About Our Reviewer

This guide has been reviewed and approved by Suplift, a long-time Mistweaver Monk theorycrafter who raids in Ego (the guild that resulted from the merger of Lotion and Entropy). You can follow him on Twitter: @suplift.

1. Gems

The gems you will use depend on the type of content you are tackling.

1.1. Mistweaving

You should use Saber's Eye of Intellect Icon Saber's Eye of Intellect in one socket, and Deadly Eye of Prophecy Icon Deadly Eye of Prophecy in all other sockets.

1.2. Fistweaving

You should use Saber's Eye of Intellect Icon Saber's Eye of Intellect in one socket, and Versatile Maelstrom Sapphire Icon Versatile Maelstrom Sapphire in all other sockets.

1.3. Mythic+

You should use Saber's Eye of Intellect Icon Saber's Eye of Intellect in one socket, and Quick Dawnlight Icon Quick Dawnlight or Masterful Shadowruby Icon Masterful Shadowruby (with the idea being to keep Haste and Mastery equal) in all other sockets.

2. Enchants

The enchants you will use depend on the type of content you are tackling. Regarding neck enchants, note that the difference in HPS between Enchant Neck - Mark of the Ancient Priestess Icon Enchant Neck - Mark of the Ancient Priestess and Enchant Neck - Mark of the Trained Soldier Icon Enchant Neck - Mark of the Trained Soldier is very small. If you regularly do both raiding and dungeon content, using Mark of the Ancient Priestess as default is viable.

3. Consumables

Flask of the Whispered Pact Icon Flask of the Whispered Pact should be used for raids along with Potion of Deadly Grace Icon Potion of Deadly Grace and Leytorrent Potion Icon Leytorrent Potion as your potions of choice. The DPS potion can optionally be used as a pre-pot at the beginning of the fight where healing is not very intense, while your Leytorrent Potion Icon Leytorrent Potion is a one time usage potion per fight where you can restore Mana at the cost of not being able to cast or move while the effect lasts.

You should eat Lavish Suramar Feast Icon Lavish Suramar Feast for the buff to your Intellect (or the cheaper Hearty Feast Icon Hearty Feast if you cannot afford the +500 food).

Ancient Healing Potion Icon Ancient Healing Potion can be used in place of Healthstones. Ancient Mana Potion Icon Ancient Mana Potion can also be used once per fight as an instant Mana restore.

If you can afford it, you should also use the Legion augment rune: Defiled Augment Rune Icon Defiled Augment Rune. Note that it now works in Mythic+ dungeons (it did not used to).
