Consumables for Protection Paladins

4.1.

Flasks, Weapon Augments, and Potions

Use Flask of the Shattered Sun Icon Flask of the Shattered Sun as a general-use flask.

Thalassian Phoenix Oil Icon Thalassian Phoenix Oil as Templar or Rite of Sanctification Icon Rite of Sanctification as Lightsmith.

Light's Potential Icon Light's Potential should be your combat potion of choice.

You should use Silvermoon Health Potion Icon Silvermoon Health Potion for in-combat healing. Healing potions do not share a cooldown with Healthstone Icon Healthstones, so you can use both independently if you can access a Warlock.

4.2.

Food

When deciding what food type to use it would be advisable to sim both options to identify which one is better for you. Primary Stat (Strength) and Highest Secondary Stat options are available for both feasts and personal food buffs.

As a general recommendation without simming the Secondary Stat variants are a safe choice.

Use Royal Roast Icon Royal Roast (primary stat) or Champion's Bento Icon Champion's Bento (secondary stat) as your food buff of choice if a Feast is not available.

If a Harandar Celebration Icon Harandar Celebration (primary stat) / Blooming Feast Icon Blooming Feast (secondary stat) is available, use this instead.

New with Midnight: Teas can be used to give yourself a small speed buff which can be consumed in addition to your food buff. Any of the following options work, get whichever is cheapest:

  • Sanguithorn Tea Icon Sanguithorn Tea
  • Azeroot Tea Icon Azeroot Tea
  • Argentleaf Tea Icon Argentleaf Tea
4.3.

Augment Runes

In addition, if you can afford it, you should use Void-Touched Augment Rune Icon Void-Touched Augment Runes to increase your primary stat. Augment Runes will be expensive until the final Season of the expansion, and disappear on death, so use them wisely!
