About Our Reviewers

This guide has been reviewed and approved by Fardion, a top Retribution Paladin. You can follow him on Twitter, and you can also reach him on the official Paladin Discord channel if you have any questions about the spec.

1. Secondary Stat Choice

As per the stats page, we consider Mastery and Haste (and to a lesser extent, Versatility), to be close in value, and it is up to you to choose which one to go for. On this page, we will recommend Mastery, but simply replace this with one of the other two stats if you prefer.

2. Gems for Retribution Paladins

You should use Masterful Argulite Icon Masterful Argulite (or the cheaper Masterful Shadowruby Icon Masterful Shadowruby) in all sockets.

3. Enchants for Retribution Paladins

Slot Enchantment

4. Consumables for Retribution Paladins

Flask of the Countless Armies Icon Flask of the Countless Armies should be used for raids along with Potion of the Old War Icon Potion of the Old War as your potion of choice. You should eat Lavish Suramar Feast Icon Lavish Suramar Feast for the buff to your Strength, or Nightborne Delicacy Platter Icon Nightborne Delicacy Platter to buff your Mastery. Astral Healing Potion Icon Astral Healing Potion can be used in place of Healthstones.

If you can afford it, you should also use augment runes (which work in both raids and Mythic+ dungeons). Defiled Augment Rune Icon Defiled Augment Rune is the cheap rune with a one-time use. Lightforged Augment Rune Icon Lightforged Augment Rune costs 40,000 Gold and requires exalted reputation with the Army of the Light faction.
