Gear disclaimer for Vengeance Demon Hunter

While there are some possible goals you can aim for as a Vengeance Demon Hunter, there will always be conditions. Defensively, an item with a higher Item Level will almost always be stronger than a "better" item with a lower Item Level.

Offensively, however, you might find situations where an item with a lower item level or stats that you would not think is your best item. And unless you have every item on the lists below, you might find that several of these items are not the strongest item for you.

Embellishment Recommendations for Vengeance Demon Hunter

In Season 3 of Dragonflight, you will be able to use Spark of Dreams Icon Spark of Dreams to craft gear up to Item Level 486. Some high-priority items are special Embellished gear, which have special effects. Below is a general list of things recommended to craft.

  1. The first item you should be looking to craft week one is a pair of Slimy Expulsion Boots Icon Slimy Expulsion Boots and ideally, pair this item with a Belt or Bracer crafted using a Spark of Shadowflame Icon Spark of Shadowflame from Dragonflight Season 2 with a Toxified Armor Patch Icon Toxified Armor Patch to boost its effect by 100%.
  2. Your second Spark should be sent on upgrading your item with Toxified Armor Patch Icon Toxified Armor Patch. Ideally, this will be in a lower-budget item slot like Bracers or Belt.
  3. Once you have your two embellishments, you will want to craft slots where you can get a large item-level upgrade. Consider putting a Alchemical Flavor Pocket Icon Alchemical Flavor Pocket on a low-budget item like Bracers or Cloak.
  4. Later in the Season, when you have gotten gear with sockets in most slots where sockets are available; you can consider crafting an Elemental Lariat Icon Elemental Lariat to use together with Slimy Expulsion Boots Icon Slimy Expulsion Boots.

Notable items for Vengeance Demon Hunter Dragonflight Season 3

The new crafting system introduced Season 2 for item upgrades remains in Season 3.

Gear in Dragonflight Season 3 is upgraded with two currencies: Flightstones Icon Flightstones and Dreaming Crests, both obtainable from practically all forms of content in the game. They can be used to upgrade gear up to Item Level 489, which is equal to loot which drops from the last boss on Mythic Raid difficulty. Mythic Raid Item Level. Dreaming Crests can also be used to upgrade Crafted Gear up to iLvl 486.

Best Items to Upgrade for Vengeance Demon Hunter in Dragonflight Season 2

There are a few items which will serve as significant upgrades for Vengeance, the main ones being the Double Time Icon Double Time and any of the Trinkets outlined in the section below. These are your best bet for an early upgrade. Beyond these, you will want to focus upgrades on tier set items, as they are something you will be wearing the entire patch.

Double Time Icon Double Time is a Warglaive weapon that drops in the Dawn of the Infinite: Galakrond's fall dungeon. The weapon comes with the Timestrike bonus stat , which causes your damage to have a chance to echo for bonus damage. Upgrading one of these is one of your largest improvements available early in the patch.

6.

Trinkets

Since Vengeance is a tank specialization, you will have to consider your trinket choice based on the content you are doing. If you want a trinket that increases your damage or something to help you defensively, it will change what you are looking for. Below are some recommendations from The Amirdrassil Raid and Mythic+, as well as what the use cases for the different trinkets are.

6.1.

Trinkets from Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope

  1. Cataclysmic Signet Brand Icon Cataclysmic Signet Brand, is a trinket that drops from Smolderon. It deals damage to you and your target, increasing with each activation up until you reach 15 activations in a row when the damage radiates to nearby enemies. Leaving combat makes the stacks decay over 15 seconds until they completely disappear. An incredibly strong trinket if you can maintain the stacks for a long time, otherwise, it will still be a good option.
  2. Augury of the Primal Flame Icon Augury of the Primal Flame is a trinket that drops from Fyrakk. Your abilities have a chance to grant a buff that copies 50% of all Critical damage you deal to enemies. A strong passive trinket which can drop with 7 extra iLvl.
  3. Pip's Emerald Friendship Badge Icon Pip's Emerald Friendship Badge is a trinket from Council of Dreams. A passive trinket that cycles between Mastery, Critical Strike, and Versatility, starting at a large amount after each switch and diminishing over 12 seconds.
  4. Coiled Serpent Idol Icon Coiled Serpent Idol is a trinket that drops from the Volkaross. A passive trinket which causes your Critical attacks to have a chance to spawn Lava Serpents that attack enemies. If their target dies, they explode to damage nearby targets.
  5. Fyrakk's Tainted Rageheart Icon Fyrakk's Tainted Rageheart is a trinket that drops from Fyrakk. This trinket at first appears like a defensive trinket, but the shield is mostly depleted by the self-damage. The passive damage effect and the damage from the effect might possibly make it an offensive option for Mythic+ dungeons with large pulls.
6.2.

Trinkets from Mythic+ Season 3

  1. Prophetic Stonescales Icon Prophetic Stonescales is a trinket from Dawn of the Infinite: Murozond's Rise. A passive Cheat Death trinket, which allows you to survive dying once every 8 minutes, healing you for a large amount, and giving a burst of Haste and reducing damage taken from the enemies that killed you by 20%.
  2. Accelerating Sandglass Icon Accelerating Sandglass is a trinket from is a trinket from Dawn of the Infinite: Galakrond's Fall. A passive trinket building up Haste until you reach 8 stacks, where they reset and deal damage to your target.
7.

Tier Set

With Amirdrassil, a new tier set arrives. For Vengeance, these are Demon Hunter Vengeance 10.2 Class Set 2pc Icon Demon Hunter Vengeance 10.2 Class Set 2pc and Demon Hunter Vengeance 10.2 Class Set 4pc Icon Demon Hunter Vengeance 10.2 Class Set 4pc. Both set bonuses are decently strong, especially Demon Hunter Vengeance 10.2 Class Set 4pc Icon Demon Hunter Vengeance 10.2 Class Set 4pc in situations with many targets, where it will give you a massive amount of extra Soul Fragment Icon Soul Fragment.
