Devices
When you first visit your Gnomish Gearworks / Goblin Workshop, you will be given Unconventional Inventions (Alliance) or Unconventional Inventions (Horde) from one of the engineers in the building. Completing this quest requires you to loot a device from the workbench, which is how you will be able to get a new random device every few hours. Devices seem to spawn on the workbench in an erratic way, so it is very hard to say how often you get to loot a new device, but it is at least once a day.
Below, you will find a list of the devices. They all have a 24-hour duration, after which time they disappear from your inventory.
