Best Enchants, Gems, and Consumables for Elemental Shaman

This section specifically covers the optimal gems, enchants, food, and flasks to use for your character. To get a more detailed rundown of the different stats for Elemental Shaman, please visit our dedicated Stats page.

2.

We highly recommend using Raidbots to sim your character's ideal gems and enchants, as they might differ from our general recommendations.

The best stat for Elemental Shamans is Mastery, followed by Haste. You should most likely be gemming for Mastery, unless you already have loads of Mastery on every single gear-piece.

You should use Powerful Eversong Diamond Icon Powerful Eversong Diamond in one socket. After that you want one hybrid gem of every color, and use sims to tell you which secondary stat you want most. When in doubt, Flawless Deadly Amethyst Icon Flawless Deadly Amethyst is a good baseline gem to equip.

Consumable Recommendations

4.1.

Weapon Oil

If you are not using using the Flametongue Weapon Icon Flametongue Weapon weapon imbue talent, you should apply Thalassian Phoenix Oil Icon Thalassian Phoenix Oil on your weapon every couple of hours. They do not stack.

4.2.

Flask

You should be drinking a secondary stat flask depending on what you want more of, probably Flask of the Magisters Icon Flask of the Magisters.

4.3.

Potions

Different potions are viable, but we recommend using Light's Potential Icon Light's Potential or potentially Potion of Recklessness Icon Potion of Recklessness. You should use them during Bloodlust Icon Bloodlust/Heroism Icon Heroism along with Ascendance Icon Ascendance and Stormkeeper Icon Stormkeeper.

It might be worth it to use Draught of Rampant Abandon Icon Draught of Rampant Abandon but beware the void zone!

You should keep a stock of Silvermoon Health Potion Icon Silvermoon Health Potions to use when at low health, and if you have a Warlock in the group, grab their Healthstone Icon Healthstones and use them as well. Do not macro these together, they are best used separately!

4.4.

Food Buff

You want to use Silvermoon Parade Icon Silvermoon Parade or Harandar Celebration Icon Harandar Celebration to gain 50 Intelligence. Later on you might want to use the 65 to highest secondary stat foods instead: Quel'dorei Medley Icon Quel'dorei Medley or Blooming Feast Icon Blooming Feast.

When you need to buy personal food, use Royal Roast Icon Royal Roast or Impossibly Royal Roast Icon Impossibly Royal Roast.

4.5.

Augmentation and Vantus Rune

When you truly think it is worth to gain just a tiny extra bit of damage, you can use Void-Touched Augment Rune Icon Void-Touched Augment Rune. You should probably sell those instead for a bit of extra gold, unless you are raiding Cutting Edge, though!

When your group is struggling on a boss, you can use a Vantus Rune: Radiant Icon Vantus Rune: Radiant on the boss to gain a good amount of Versatility which only works against this boss. You can only do this once per week on one boss, but it works across difficulties, does not go away on death, and lasts until the weekly reset.
