About Our Author and Reviewers

This guide has been written by Furty, who has an illustrious history in the World of Warcraft raiding scene and race for World First. He has been a member of guilds such as Serenity, Midwinter, and many more, and is currently raiding in Future. He plays most classes at the highest level. This guide has been written in collaboration with the team at Storm Earth and Lava, a group of Elemental theorycrafters that includes top players and prominent theorycrafters such as Stormy, Sadozai from Wizards IRL, and Gistwiki from Indestructible.

1. Gems for Elemental Shaman

You should use Deadly Deep Chemirine Icon Deadly Deep Chemirine in all sockets. If you cannot afford to use the epic gems, you should instead use Deadly Eye of Prophecy Icon Deadly Eye of Prophecy in all other sockets.

Players with a low item level should use a Saber's Eye of Intellect Icon Saber's Eye of Intellect in at least one socket. As your item level climbs above ~900, Intellect is no longer as valuable as secondary stats and should be swapped out for pure Critical Strike.

2. Enchants for Elemental Shaman

3. Consumables for Elemental Shaman

Potion of Prolonged Power Icon Potion of Prolonged Power should be used as your potion in all situations.

Flask of the Whispered Pact Icon Flask of the Whispered Pact should be used as your flask of choice.

You should eat Lemon Herb Filet Icon Lemon Herb Filet for the Versatility buff, or Lavish Suramar Feast Icon Lavish Suramar Feast for the +500 Intellect buff (or the cheaper Hearty Feast Icon Hearty Feast if you cannot afford the +500 food). Exceptionally geared players may experience better results when using The Hungry Magister Icon The Hungry Magister for the +375 Critical Strike buff due to the nature of secondary stat scaling.

Since Patch 7.3, Healthstones now heal for 25% of the user's maximum health. This means that any player with more than 1.92 million health should always use Healthstones over Ancient Healing Potion Icon Ancient Healing Potions whenever available.

If you can afford it, you should also use augment runes (which work in both raids and Mythic+ dungeons). Defiled Augment Rune Icon Defiled Augment Rune is the cheap rune with a one-time use. Lightforged Augment Rune Icon Lightforged Augment Rune costs 40,000 Gold and requires exalted reputation with the Army of the Light faction.
