Preservation Evoker Healing Spell List and Glossary — Season 4

If you are new to Preservation, this is a great place to start to get an understanding of how the spec works. On this page we will discuss what abilities you have, what they are used for within the specialization, how they interact with each other and also with important cooldowns. If you already have experience with Preservation and are comfortable with it in the current expansion, it is recommended you skip this section and move on to the rest of the guide.

Preservation Evokers have two resources, Essence and Mana. Nearly every spell will cost some form of Mana, and you must manage your Mana to not run out before the encounter is finished. Some spells also cost Essence on top of their Mana cost. Essence regenerates over time and is capped at either 5 or 6 depending on if you take a talent to increase it. Three spells consume Essence: Echo costs 2 Essence, Emerald Blossom costs 3 Essence, and Disintegrate costs 3 Essence. You must avoid wasting Essence by capping out unless you are saving that Essence for a specific mechanic that is about to occur.

Awakened is the racial passive for Dracthyr. This increases your Mastery by 2.5%.

Visage has a passive effect that increases out-of-combat health regeneration for your party.

Living Flame is an ability that can be used both offensively and defensively. It is Preservation's only real spammable ability.

Hover allows you to cast some abilities while moving. This does not include empowered abilities.

Azure Strike costs a small amount of Mana and allows you to damage two enemies at once.

Emerald Blossom is your AoE Essence-spending heal. It costs 3 Essence and will heal a small number of allies within 10 yards.

Fire Breath is an empowered ability that deals upfront damage to enemies as well as leaving a DoT on enemies. The longer you channel this ability, the more upfront damage it deals, however it comes at the cost of a shorter DoT.

Disintegrate is your damage-dealing Essence-spending ability. This costs 3 Essence and deals damage over a channeled duration.

Blessing of the Bronze is the Evoker raid buff which causes your allies movement speed ability to have their cooldown reduced by 15%.

Expunge	Dispel	Allows you to cleanse Poison effects. This ability is also enhanced by being a Preservation Evoker and allows you to also dispel Magic effects.
Landslide	Root	Causes you to leap in the air and root enemies in a line for 30 seconds. Damage can break this effect.
Obsidian Scales	OS/Defensive/Wall	Increases your Armor and reduces magic damage taken. This is one of the few defensive abilities available to Evoker.
Verdant Embrace	VE	Strong single-target heal, but it also causes you to leap to the ally you use it on. It is also castable on yourself.
Quell	Interrupt	Allows you to interrupt a cast.
Cauterizing Flame	CF	Allows you to dispel a Bleed, Poison, Curse, or Disease effect.

Tip the Scales	TTS	Causes your next empower ability to cast instantly and at max rank.

Sleep Walk	Sleep	Disorients an enemy and causes them to move towards you. Damage has a chance to break this effect.
Source of Magic	Source	Applies a buff to an ally healer, causing them to gain some mana anytime you cast an empowered ability.
Oppressing Roar	OR	Increases the duration of crowd control effects on enemies for the next 10 seconds.

Unravel	-	Allows you to deal a high amount of damage to an enemy but requires them to be shielded.
Rescue	-	Allows you to pick up any ally and move them to your cursor location.
Renewing Blaze	RB	Defense cooldown that allows you to heal back damage taken in the next 8 seconds.
Time Spiral	-	2-minute cooldown that allows your allies to cast their movement ability once again in the next 10 seconds.
Zephyr	-	Causes you and your 4 closet allies to take 20% reduced area-of-effect damage while also giving them 30% movement speed for 8 seconds.

Permeating Chill	-	Causes any of your blue spells to slow your target's movement speed by 50% for a short duration.
Natural Convergence	-	Causes Disintegrate to channel 20% fast.
Forger of Mountains	-	Causes Landslide's cooldown to be reduced by 30 seconds and withstand more damage.
Innate Magic	-	Makes your Essence regenerate 5% faster per rank.
Obsidian Bulwark	-	Gives you an extra charge of Obsidian Scales.
Enkindled	-	Causes Living Flame to deal 3% more damage and healing per rank.
Scarlet Adaptation	-	Causes 20% of effective healing to be stored as damage that will be consumed to deal more damage up to a cap.
Recall	-	Allows you to press Deep Breath again to travel back to your original location where you activated the ability.
Heavy Wingbeats	-	Reduces the cooldown of Wing Buffet by 45 seconds.
Clobbering Sweep	-	Reduces the cooldown of Tail Swipe by 45 seconds.
Tailwind	-	Causes Hover to increase movement speed by 70% for the first 4 seconds of the ability.

Roar of Exhilaration	-	Causes Quell to generate 1 Essence when you successfully interrupt an enemy.
Instinctive Arcana	-	Increases magic damage done by 2% per rank.
Attuned to the Dream	AttD	Increases your healing done and received by 3% per rank.
Draconic Legacy	-	Increases your Stamina by 6%.
Inherent Resistance	-	Reduces your magic damage taken.
Extended Flight	-	Causes Hover to last 2 seconds per rank.
Ancient Flame	-	Causes your next Living Flame to have its cast time reduced by 40% after it is used to heal yourself.
Regenerative Magic	-	Increases your leech.
Blast Furnace	-	Increases Fire Breath's DoT duration.
Exuberance	-	Gives you 10% increased movement speed when your health is above 75%.
Walloping Blow	-	Causes Wing Buffet/ Tail Swipe to knock enemies further away, as well as dazing them, reducing their movement speed by 70% for a few seconds.
Panacea	-	Causes Emerald Blossom to instantly heal you when cast.

Protracted Talons	-	Causes Azure Strike to hit an additional enemy.
Potent Mana	-	Causes Source of Magic to increase your targets healing and damage.
Lush Growth	-	Causes green spells to restore 5% more health per rank.
Leaping Flames	-	Gives Fire Breath an extra effect. Each empowered rank of Fire Breath causes Living Flame to hit an extra target depending on the rank.
Overawe	-	Causes Oppressing Roar to remove 1 Enrage effect from each enemy hit and have its cooldown reduced by 20 seconds for each Enrage effect that it dispelled.
Aerial Mastery	-	Gives you an extra charge of Hover.
Twin Guardian	-	Causes Rescue to gain a shield absorbing 30% of your max health for 5 seconds.
Foci of Life	-	Increases you to take 20% more healing when Renewing Blaze has its initial effect active.
Fire Within	-	Reduces the cooldown of Renewing Blaze by 30 seconds.
Terror of the Skies	-	Causes Deep Breath to stun enemies for 3 seconds.

Ability	Abbreviation	Description/Effect
Echo	-	Single-target Essence-spending heal. This ability costs 2 Essence and leaves a buff on the target causing the next non-Echo heal to also heal any ally with an Echo buff.
Dream Breath	DB	One of three empower abilities available to Preservation. This ability heals in a cone in front of you and it does more healing the longer it is channeled for. Its cooldown is also reduced the longer it is channeled.
Reversion	DB	Heal-over-time ability that has its duration increased whenever it critically strikes.
Rewind	-	Will cause allies to be healed for 50% of their damage taken in the last 5 seconds. You should aim to use this ability after your party/raid takes a significant amount of damage.
Spiritbloom	SB	Single-target empower ability that increases in targets healed as it is channeled.
Time Dilation	TD/External	External cooldown you can use on an ally which will cause 50% of the damage they take to instead be dealt in the form of a DoT.

Emerald Communion	EC	Defensive cooldown that gives both health and some Mana return. Any healing it does while you are above full health will heal allies instead.
Temporal Anomaly	TA	Sends forward an orb that causes your allies to absorb damage.

Dream Flight	DF	Fly into the air and heal all allies in a line. This will also leave a heal-over-time effect on your allies.
Stasis	-	Causes your next 3 heals to be stored for 30 seconds. When you reuse this ability it will cause all 3 heals to trigger instantly on your allies.

Temporal Compression	TC	Each Bronze spell you cast to reduce the empower cast time by 5% per spell cast; this stacks up to 4.
Essence Burst	-	Living Flame has a 20% chance to make your next Essence spending ability free.
Essence Attunement	-	Essence Burst stacks to two.

Empath	-	Increases your Essence regeneration rates by 100% for 8 seconds after pressing Spiritbloom.
Spiritual Clarity	-	Reduces the cooldown of Spiritbloom by 10 seconds.
Fluttering Seedlings	-	Emerald Blossom sends out two seedlings to heal allies up to 30 yards away.
Life-Giver's Flame	-	Fire Breath heals a nearby ally for 80% of the damage that is done (up to 5 targets).
Golden Hour	-	Reversion heals the target for 15% of the damage they have taken in the last 5 seconds.
Delay Harm	-	Delay Harm increases Time Dilation to 70%.
Just in Time	-	Time Dilation's cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds every time you cast an Essence-costing ability.
Dreamwalker	-	Allows you to move while casting Emerald Communion.
Rush of Vitality	-	Emerald Communion increases your health by 20% for 15 seconds.
Exhilarating Burst	-	Gain 15% critical healing per rank for 10 seconds every time you gain an Essence Burst.
Field of Dreams	-	Gives you a 30% chance for Fluttering Seedlings to grow into a new emerald blossom.
Lifeforce Mender	LfM	Both Living Flame and Fire Breath deal additional healing and damage by 1% of your max health per rank.
Time Lord	TL	Echo replicates an extra 25% healing per rank.
Flow State	FS	Echo causes time to move 5% faster per rank for 10 seconds whenever you cast an empowered spell.
Resonating Sphere	RS	Causes Temporal Anomaly to apply Echo to allies healed at reduced effectiveness.
Nozdormu's Teachings	-	Temporal Anomaly reduces the cooldown of your empower spells by 5 seconds.
Call of Ysera	CoY	Activates after casting Verdant Embrace and causes your next Living Flame to be increased by 100%, or your next Dream Breath to be increased by 40%.
Lifebind	Lb	Causes Verdant Embrace to buff your target. This Lifebind buff will then cause 40% of healing that either you or your target takes to replicate onto each other for the next 5 seconds.
Punctuality	-	Reversion has 2 charges.

Spark of Insight	Spark	Causes Temporal Compression to grant Essence Burst whenever a fully stacked temporal compression is consumed.
Power Nexus	Spark	Increases your maximum Essence to 6.
Ouroboros	-	Gives you a stacking buff increasing Emerald Blossom's healing each time you cast Echo.
Font of Magic	Font	Allows you to channel empower abilities to another level, basically gaining an extra level of power, cooldown reduction, or targets hit depending on which ability you cast.
Erasure	-	Rewind has 2 charges, but its healing is reduced by 50%.
Temporal Artificer	-	Reduces the cooldown of Rewind by one minute.
Energy Loop	-	Disintegrate deals 20% more damage and generates 7,200 Mana during the channel.
Time of Need	ToN	Causes a copy of yourself to appear and heal an ally for 8 seconds whenever you or someone else falls below 20% HP.
Renewing Breath	-	Increases healing of Dream Breath by 15%.
Grace Period	-	Increases your healing done to targets buffed with Reversion by 5% per rank.
Timeless Magic	-	Reversion, Time Dilation, and Echo last 30% longer.
Cycle of Life	-	Every 3rd Emerald Blossom cast to leave behind a sprout that collects a portion of your healing over the next 8 seconds before the sprout blooms and heals allies within 30 yards evenly.
