Restoration Shaman Healing Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible Raid Guide — Season 4

In this section, you will find detailed information about each Aberrus boss. This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Restoration Shaman and how you can deal with each fight as best as possible.

In a raid setting, you want to prioritize raid healing talents, which often means taking Chain Heal talents, such as High Tide and Tidebringer. Feel free to experiment with builds, as the current tier set provides general buffs which will work fine with any talent build.

Support talents such as Wind Shear and Gust of Wind will be recommended on a boss-by-boss basis below, so make sure to check out our talent import strings if you are struggling with a specific boss!

• Make sure to avoid this dragon's breath, but there is no tail swipe to worry about;
• The boss will do raid-wide damage at every 20% life lost with Hellsteel Carnage, which can be dangerous when done in short proximity of Wings of Extinction and / or the laser mechanic. Make sure to use your cooldowns during overlaps, and preferably towards the end of the fight, as damage ramps up.

• In phase 1, the bosses will be split apart. During this time, you will gain a stacking debuff of Corrupting Shadow or Blazing Heat. If your stacks ever get too high, you can run to the other boss to have your stacks reset;
• In phase 2, the boss will deal increasing damage until death, meaning cooldowns are best spent towards the end of the fight.

• You will need to dispel players with Unstable Essence when Thadrion is active. It will spread to another player when dispelled, so you want to wait with doing it until high stacks. You will also want to avoid dispelling if the player is in the raid, as it will leave a giant damage zone under them, likely killing any player it touches;
• Rionthus will spawn orbs around the room that will shield the boss for a huge amount if they reach him. You should run into these orbs to push them away from the boss;
• When Rionthus is casting Deep Breath, you will want to figure out where he is going and move away, as it does one-shot levels of damage. He will pick 1/3rd of the room to fly down and kill anyone in that area. Always be safe and move as far as possible to one side.

• This encounter has multiple spells you can interrupt with Wind Shear, making it a good encounter to take this talent if you want to help your group out;
• Dispel players who get the Magma Flow debuff;
• Due to the high amount of enemies, taking Acid Rain is a valuable tech option to speed up the encounter;
• Save healing cooldowns for when Ignara's Fury is active at the end of the fight.

• Whenever the boss is brought to the center of the room, he will deal massive damage with Conduit Flare. Try to plan to have healing cooldowns active each time he is brought to the middle, and beware of Charged Smash soaks as well;
• If you are targeted by Searing Slam, it is important that you do not drop the circle on another Lava Vortex, or it will likely wipe the raid, remember to spot-heal anyone targeted by this debuff.

• Try to position so that the Blast Wave mechanic does not push you into any ground effect within the room. You can't be pushed off the edge, so use that to your advantage when possible and goblin Rocket Jump or Gust of Wind if needed.

• Help soak the Magma Puddle circles to shrink them and save space in the room;
• This boss deals increased damage as it loses health, so make sure to have cooldowns ready towards the end of the fight!
• If Lava Ejection is not soaked, it will wipe the raid. You will need to help your allies soak this, but soaking it leaves a debuff, increasing your damage when soaking. Do not soak again until this debuff falls off;
• The large knockback in the fight can be bypassed with Rocket Jump or Gust of Wind, if needed;
• Avoid standing in front of the boss due to Blazing Breath. This will kill you if you are hit by it.

• This boss creates walls that block line of sight, stopping you from healing targets behind them, thus make sure to be near the boss and the raid group at all times;
• Casts of Echoing Fissure in phase 1, Umbral Annihilation in phase 2, and Sunder Reality in phase 3 all deal increasing amounts of raid damage and warrant healing / defensive cooldowns, especially if you are deep into a phase;
• Rushing Darkness can be used to break the walls spawned by the boss but you will want to avoid standing between anyone targeted by this and the boss, as it will also deal damage to you;
• If you are ever targeted by Corruption, make sure to help to break the shield on the Voice from Beyond adds while standing away from everyone else;
• In the last phase, you will need to stand in Sundered Reality to avoid dying to Ebon Destruction.

• Phase 1 is where healing is most intense, especially when yourself and others are removing Oppressing Howl by standing in damaging abilities! Make sure to rotate your cooldowns accordingly, with Spirit Link Totem being ideal for the final Glittering Surge;
• Get 10 stacks of Astral Flare before coming up in Phase 2 start;
• Dispel Infinite Duress when the affected person is standing at the correct position for the raid knockback to have little impact, and preferably also after everyone is brought out of dangerously low health values;
• People with high stacks of Oblivion will need extra healing, consider telling them to go all the way to 10 in order to reset their stacks if the healing is becoming too overwhelming. Also, make sure to go over any pulsing Void Bombs on the ground, as those give stacks and deal high damage very quickly!
