Feral Druid DPS Vault of the Incarnates Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.1
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Feral Druid for each boss of the following raid: Vault of the Incarnates. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.1.
Introduction
On this page, you will find Feral-Druid-specific information to deal with each boss in the Vault of the Incarnates raid.
This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Feral Druids and what you can do to deal with each fight as best as possible.
Talent Cheatsheet
There are currently three builds that see use within the raid: one focused on pure single-target, one on pure AoE, and a more hybridized version. Due to how frequently it is used, the hybrid build is recommended below, but links to all three builds are provided here as well:
Build Import Codes
Below are quick import codes that can be used for 3 sample builds, but each boss will also have a bespoke link tailored to the boss below based on recommendations. You can also use our Talent page to find out more about some of the builds being suggested here and why.
- Single Target: BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQEIRkkkkSKRUSSikEAAAAAAKAIJAAJJJJkQJhWiAAAAAAAJgCA
- AoE: BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAICkISSSSJlDIpkkEJJAAAAAAUAIRAASSSSkEpkQLxBAAAAAAgEAAA
- Mythic Hybrid: BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIJt0kIJJkUUCKJJJSCAAAAAAFASEAgkkkEJRKJ0ScAAAAAAAIBAA
Recommended General Build
Due to Vault of the Incarnates having a large number of fights with a heavy focus on bosses with intermittent adds or priority targets, we have opted to recommend the Hybrid build from the Talents page to cover most bases. You can find more specialized recommendations in each individual boss section if there is a reason to take a more specific loadout.
For more details on the loadouts available you can use our Talents page:
Eranog
While boss damage is most important here, some adds need to be dealt with and being able to contribute and make use of them for a small amount of extra funnel is useful.
Talents
You can opt out of some of the AoE talents if you so desire, especially in Normal/Heroic because adds are killed so quickly, but the general recommendation is a hybrid build to deal with both the boss and adds:
- BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIJt0kIJJkUUCKJJJSCAAAAAAFASEAgkkkEJRKJ0ScAAAAAAAIBAA
Tips
Typhoon and
Ursol's Vortex are useful here to keep the Flamescale Tarasek grouped and under control while they are being killed.
Tiger Dash is a good choice here to position your
Flamerifts and move to add spawns during the intermission.
Barkskin and
Survival Instincts are best saved for situations where you are either fixated by the adds or need to move through
Lava Flow pools as these can be quite dangerous.
- While the Primal Flame is important to kill in the intermission, you should have more than enough time to do so without needing to save any cooldowns.
Mythic Specific Tips
- Make sure to interrupt the Flamescale Captain's
Pyroblast cast.
- AoE is more valuable here as adds tend to live longer, especially the Captain, so the Hybrid build gets more room to shine.
- Due to needing to kill two Primal Flame adds in the intermission,
having some shorter cooldowns to commit, such as
Feral Frenzy, is a good idea here.
For more information, please refer to our Eranog guide.
Terros
Terros is the only pure single-target fight within the raid without any potential extra adds, so a purely focused build for that purpose is recommended.
Talents
There is very little room to deviate from the recommended single-target build here solely because no extra enemies to capitalize on are present:
- BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQEIRkkkkSKRUSSikEAAAAAAKAIJAAJJJJkQJhWiAAAAAAAJgCA
Tips
Stampeding Roar has various applications throughout the fight - avoiding
Resonating Annihilation, adjusting around the
Awakened Earth pillars following
Rock Blast or to get out of
Shattering Impact. Discuss with your raid where it is best used.
Tiger Dash is more suited to this encounter to avoid mechanics as
Wild Charge provides little to no benefit.
- Defensive usage should be planned around the
Rock Blast events as this, plus the follow-up DoT, is quite dangerous. Self-healing is also useful here, such as
Renewal.
Mythic Specific Tips
- In Mythic, the fight remains largely the same aside from a higher damage
requirement and more damage taken, so more defensive planning is needed.
Improved Stampeding Roar is a stronger consideration to help the raid move out of
Shattering Impact baits.
For more information, please refer to our Terros guide.
The Primal Council
The entire fight is spent with 4 targets up, usually stacked together. As such, a full AoE build is strongly recommended here.
Talents
There is not much room to deviate from the recommended build here, as the fight is a reasonably straightforward AoE from start to finish:
- BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAICkISSSSJlDIpkkEJJAAAAAAUAIRAASSSSkEpkQLxBAAAAAAgEAAA
Tips
- Make use of the extra range Feral has with your positioning so you can hit
all 4 enemies without worrying about them moving slightly. Aim to be to the side
to avoid
Slashing Blaze while still keeping a clear path to an
Earthen Pillar to remove
Conductive Mark.
- Aim to maintain
Rip via
Primal Wrath and
Rake on all 4 targets, but funnel your
Ferocious Bites from
Apex Predator's Craving into whichever is the highest health - usually one of the two casters.
Stampeding Roar can help get to the correct position during
Meteor Axes, and to move to the fire pools during
Primal Blizzard.
- Be very careful using
Wild Charge here so as to avoid spreading
Conductive Mark accidentally.
Mythic Specific Tips
- Minimal changes here on Mythic, and it is arguably easier mechanically than Heroic due to there being fewer Fire patches, making the room less chaotic.
For more information, please refer to our The Primal Council guide.
Sennarth, the Cold Breath
While boss damage is ultimately the most important here, there are add spawns and enemies
that need to be killed efficiently without necessarily requiring a lot of AoE. Therefore,
a hybridized single-target build with access to Primal Wrath is recommended
here.
Talents
While you can opt into dealing pure single-target and opt out of dealing any add damage if your raid can manage it, we recommend a more versatile one for efficient damage on all targets here to leverage the funnel that can be gained from them:
- BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIJt0kIJJkUUCKJJJSCAAAAAAFASEAgkkkEJRKJ0ScAAAAAAAIBAA
Tips
- Try to apply
Thrash and
Primal Wrath to Caustic Spiderlings to make use of both
Predator resets and get additional
Apex Predator's Craving procs.
- Be careful when using displacement tools such as a regular
Wild Charge outside of
Cat Form, as momentum is maintained after the
Gossamer Burst if on
Icy Ground.
Stampeding Roar and
Improved Stampeding Roar are useful here during platform, transitions to help the raid get through.
- Shapeshifting out of
Cat Form will remove the
Sticky Webbing debuff, so long as you are not stunned by reaching too many stacks.
Skull Bash and
Wild Charge can be used to counteract the
Repelling Burst knockback in the final phase.
Barkskin and
Survival Instincts are best saved for the platform transitions when
Chilling Blast is cast, in case anyone overlaps with you.
Mythic Specific Tips
- The fight is largely the same as Heroic, aside from having to deal with a lot more
Icy Ground and the addition of
Gusting Rime during platform transitions.
- Aim to make sure you have
Incarnation: Avatar of Ashamane for each Frostbreath Arachnid spawn if possible, as these adds to die extremely quickly on Mythic.
- For the final phase, when you tend to be quite clumped, you can use
Typhoon to knock dying Caustic Spiderlings away to avoid unnecessary raid damage.
For more information, please refer to our Sennarth, the Cold Breath guide.
Dathea, Ascended
On both Heroic and especially Mythic difficulty, this boss heavily focuses on add damage in bursts, so some AoE talents are required, despite spending a lot of time on just the boss. Because of this, a hybridized build is selected to be able to deal with the platform and contribute meaningful single-target.
Talents
Some options can be deviated from if you are not assigned to platforms or are on Normal difficulty and instead take a pure single-target build, but generally we recommend the following:
- BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIJt0kIJJkUUCKJJJSCAAAAAAFASEAgkkkEJRKJ0ScAAAAAAAIBAA
Tips
Stampeding Roar is useful here to help allies stay out of the
Cyclone pull in.
Barkskin and
Survival Instincts are best saved for when on the platform as damage can get quite high toward the end.
Typhoon paired with
Ursol's Vortex can be used on the platform to interrupt the Thunder Caller adds and stack them up for more efficient AoE.
- Similarly,
Incapacitating Roar can be used to follow this up to keep them locked down.
Skull Bash and
Wild Charge can be used to counteract the
Blowback or if you are hit by
Cyclone to stay on the boss if you are not aiming to be sent to a platform.
- Be careful using these displacements; however, if you are targeted by
Conductive Mark then you can easily spread this by moving too wildly around the room.
Mythic Specific Tips
- The add platform spawns roughly 90 seconds into the fight, making it extremely
tight to get
Incarnation: Avatar of Ashamane ready again - but possible. You should aim to have cooldowns ready for this platform to get it over with as quickly as possible.
- Especially on Mythic, you should aim to funnel
Apex Predator's Craving procs into the Volatile Infuser while AoEing the adds, as this is the add that needs to die efficiently to get back to the main platform.
For more information, please refer to our Dathea, Ascended guide.
Kurog Grimtotem
Kurog has different builds depending on if you are doing Normal/Heroic or Mythic, as the number of targets significantly changes. The former is predominantly single-target with some add phases, so a hybrid build is used. At the same time, the latter spends most of the time with at least two targets, sometimes more so using an AoE build is more suited.
Talents
The two builds linked are dependent on the difficulty of the encounter you are doing, as the number of targets changes:
- Normal/Heroic: BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIJt0kIJJkUUCKJJJSCAAAAAAFASEAgkkkEJRKJ0ScAAAAAAAIBAA
- Mythic: BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAICkISSSSJlDIpkkEJJAAAAAAUAIRAASSSSkEpkQLxBAAAAAAgEAAA
Tips
- During the intermission, you can make use of the dying adds from the Fire and Earth adds
to reset
Predator.
Stampeding Roar is useful to help the raid get out of Erupting Bedrock when in the earth phase.
- Be careful using it in the Fire phase however, as additional speed during
Searing Carnage can cause some players to run ahead and cut off a path.
- Make sure to interrupt
Frost Binds from the Frozen Destroyer in the intermission.
- Self-healing via
Predatory Swiftness and assisting the raid with
Nature's Vigil is useful when the raid has
Enveloping Earth applied to them.
Mythic Specific Tips
- In Mythic, there are virtually always two targets, and as such, taking
Double-Clawed Rake and
Primal Wrath to easily maintain Bleeds on both is advised.
- Try to save some resources ready to burst down the Earth Breaker add waves, as these need to die relatively quickly to relieve tank pressure.
- Have some strong defensives such as
Survival Instincts for the second intermission if you are targeted by Violent Upheaval if you have to move out of the
Freezing Tempest safe zone.
For more information, please refer to our Kurog Grimtotem guide.
Broodkeeper Diurna
The decision for your build on this encounter hinges entirely on one question: Are you on add duty or boss duty? This will dictate whether you select single-target or AoE talents, as you will spend most of the encounter doing one or the other.
Talents
Because of the different roles that can be taken during this encounter, we have two separate builds depending on your selection. Note that while there will always be a period of time spent against just the boss, fulfilling your role the get through the first phase is most important, so select single-target for boss, AoE for adds:
- Single Target: BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQEIRkkkkSKRUSSikEAAAAAAKAIJAAJJJJkQJhWiAAAAAAAJgCA
- AoE: BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAICkISSSSJlDIpkkEJJAAAAAAUAIRAASSSSkEpkQLxBAAAAAAgEAAA
Tips
- The first add wave will spawn roughly 40 seconds into the encounter, so plan your cooldowns accordingly. Some will burn the boss early to get ahead, and if you have the damage to deal with the first wave, you can do so.
Stampeding Roar and
Improved Stampeding Roar is very useful here to move around the giant room, which the add group will frequently be doing if you are assigned to this.
- Interrupt
Static Jolt cast by Draconic Stormbringer.
- Use
Nature's Vigil during the
Chilling Tantrum casts.
- Make use of your funnel ability via
Apex Predator's Craving by targeting the Juvenile Frost Proto-Dragon when active, as these are the most dangerous high health enemies.
- Shapeshifting out of
Cat Form will break the root and remove the absorb shield from Frozen Shroud.
Typhoon paired with
Ursol's Vortex can interrupt the Primalist Mage groups, and group them up better.
Tiger Dash is an option here against
Wild Charge to move to add packs earlier, and get out quickly if targeted by
Empowered Greatstaff of the Broodkeeper.
- You can make use of
Predator resets by applying
Thrash to the roots spawned by
Frozen Shroud.
Mythic Specific Tips
- Due to roughly half of the entire encounter being pure single-target on the boss itself, even if you are on add duty, we recommend taking a hybridized build to be able to contribute both in Phase 1 while dealing with the AoE requirement, and boss damage in the final phase.
For more information, please refer to our Broodkeeper Diurna guide.
Raszageth the Storm-Eater
Raszageth is a long fight with a variety of different, desirable damage profiles As such, there is a lot of customization that can be done with your talent build, depending on your group composition or what it is struggling with.
Talents
A recommended sample build is as follows, but the tips section will cover additional considerations:
- BcGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIJt0kIJJkUSBpkkkIJAAAAAAUAQSAASSSSkEpkDQJxBAAAAAAgEQBA
Tips
Convoke the Spirits and
Ashamane's Guidance are considerations here to deal with the
Stormsurge shields in Phase 2 should you need it.
- The recommended build is hybridized, so it has some AoE available to deal with
the adds spawned in both intermissions. These need to be burst down quickly so
having
Primal Wrath is important, even though it comes at the cost of boss damage in the main phase.
- It also makes sure to take
Feral Frenzy for the
Stormsurge shields and some priority damage.
Typhoon,
Incapacitating Roar and
Skull Bash are all efficient ways of dealing with
Volatile Current adds both for you and allies with AoE options.
Stampeding Roar and the follow-up
Improved Stampeding Roar is useful in the fight, especially on Mythic, to resist the boss's pushbacks and move around the massive arena to avoid
Lightning Devastation.
- Having some defense prepared for
Volatile Current if any overlap, or if targeted by
Static Charge is a good idea here.
- You should always take
Wild Charge here to counteract
Tempest Wing in Phase 2.
- Aim to save burst damage (
Berserk,
Convoke the Spirits if taken) for the
Stormsurge shield.
- Cleave from the Surging Ruiner in the intermission whenever possible to get rid of the dangerous aura as soon as possible.
Typhoon the Stormseeker Acolytes ahead to where you are going or
Skull Bash them when moving away from
Lightning Devastation in the first intermission to keep uptime and avoid unnecessary casts going through.
Mythic Specific Tips
- AoE interrupts are a premium here for the
Volatile Current adds so even moreso than before,
Typhoon and
Incapacitating Roar are useful. Also, consider
Gale Winds to hit more at once.
Improved Stampeding Roar is invaluable for additional roars to push back against
Hurricane Wing in Phase 1.
- Similarly,
Wild Charge is mandatory here to stay on the platform. You can also make use of
Skull Bash's charge effect to gain distance.
Mass Entanglement is useful here for Intermission 2 when locking down the Seeking Stormlings.
- You can shapeshift out of
Cat Form to remove the
Fulminating Charge root and then
Wild Charge out of the group quickly.
