Best MoP Remix Leveling Build for Fire Mage
Dungeon / AoE Open-World Build
This build is intended for speed-leveling and sacrifices single-target damage to maximize your ability to make huge pulls and AoE damage. This works very well in dungeons with big pulls, or in outdoor content where you pull large groups of enemies.
Swap Sun King's Blessing for Unleashed Inferno of enemies are dying very fast and you spend a lot of time running between bosses/packs.
Raid / Cleave Build
This build assumes you are spending a lot of time in Raids, or doing Dungeons at a relatively normal pace where bosses take a decent amount of time to kill. For dungeons where you do large trash pack pulls, or pull trash on-top of bosses, we suggest going the AoE build instead.
Swap Sun King's Blessing for Unleashed Inferno if enemies are dying very fast and you spend a lot of time running between bosses/packs.
Best Gems for Fire Mage in MoP Remix
Gems are one of the unique ways to augment your character in MoP Remix, offering offensive, defensive, and utility benefits. On this page, we list the best gems for each type. To learn more about Gems in MoP Remix in general, check out our dedicated page below.
- Meta Gem: Lifestorm for Raids / Oblivion Sphere for dungeons or outdoor content
- Cogwheel Gem: Mostly personal preference, but Blink is always good, whereas Soulshape is very good for outdoor travel
- Prismatic Gems:
You will have a tremendous amount of stats as you start unlocking all Gem slots, and there is no single best stat to stack. Getting a lot of Haste and Versatility is a strong option, and try to avoid Critical Strike and Mastery.

- Sunstrider's Flourish
- Enkindle
- Hailstorm
- Incendiary Terror
- Lightning Rod
- Meteor Storm
- Slay

Leveling Rotation for Fire Mage
When using our slider, note that some talents may appear sooner than you expect them to in the rotation. This is because we have two recommended builds above, each taking talents at slightly different times, and sometimes entirely different talents.
Starting at Level 1, you only have one main attack ability: Frostbolt.
- Use Fire Blast on cooldown.
- Cast Combustion when it is ready and you have at least a couple of charges of Fire Blast and Phoenix Flames.
- Cast Arcane Explosion when there are 3 or more targets.
- Only with Fuel the Fire: Cast Flamestrike when there are 5 or more targets. (Both as your filler and Hot Streak spender) When/if you get Flame Patch, use it from 3+ targets.
- Cast Pyroblast when you have Hot Streak.
- Cast Fire Blast when you have Heating Up to get Hot Streak.
- Cast Phoenix Flames when it is ready, and you do not currently have Heating Up.
- Cast Phoenix Flames when you have Heating Up to get Hot Streak, or simply cast it right as you pull new enemies to generate Heating Up, and follow it up by Fire Blast.
- Cast Meteor if talented, whenever it is ready. Try to cast it right before activating Combustion, but do not hold it for prolonged periods of time.
- Hard-cast Pyroblast (or Flamestrike, see Flamestrike section above) to trigger Sun King's Blessing when it procs after 8 Hot Streaks.
- Cast Scorch when the enemy target is below 30% health. (for Searing Touch
- Cast Fireball as your filler on single target.
