Havoc Demon Hunter DPS Gems, Enchants, and Consumables — The War Within (11.1.0)

This section covers the optimal gems, enchants, food, potions, and flasks to use with your character. Please visit our dedicated Stats page to get a more detailed rundown of the different stats for Havoc Demon Hunter.

For all consumables excluding food in the lists below, if you are looking for a cheaper alternative look for a lower rank of the same item listed. The price difference is often significant for a small loss in stats gained.

It is highly recommended that you simulate your character for gems, as individual gear pieces have a big impact on gem options. As our stats are very similar across both Hero Talent trees and content types, we have a one-size-fits-all approach:

• You should use Culminating Blasphemite in your first socket.
• You should aim to have one of each color of gem to maximize its effect, focusing on Critical Strike, meaning one of Deadly Onyx, Deadly Emerald, Masterful Ruby, and Deadly Sapphire.
• All other sockets should have Masterful Ruby.
• Note that depending on current gear, these may switch to the Mastery alternatives, using Masterful Ruby as your main gem to stack.

You can, if you so wish, also substitute the Culminating Blasphemite for an Elusive Blasphemite for a minor DPS loss if you feel you would get more out of additional passive movement speed.

For weapons, a combination of any of the 3 secondary stat procs works depending on your characters stats. We recommend Enchant Weapon - Stonebound Artistry and Enchant Weapon - Council's Guile as it works out best for both hero talent options, though Enchant Weapon - Stormrider's Fury is perfectly fine if you are exclusively playing Aldrachi Reaver.

Enchant Weapon - Authority of the Depths is also an option for pure single-target encounters, though these are not very common in the current season.

Cloak, Bracer, and Boot enchants are personal preferences as they have no direct impact on performance, but we recommend Avoidance and Stamina for the extra survivability.

There are two options for your flask of choice depending on the situation:

• Flask of Alchemical Chaos — is slightly more RNG than the alternatives, but it is a net positive in stats and also leads to stronger Tempered Potion uses so is recommended.
• Flask of Tempered Mastery — Numerically weaker, but more consistent by providing a bulk of a stat we want at all times. Does lead to a weaker Tempered Potion, however.
• Flask of Tempered Aggression — Identical to the above, but provides Critical Strike instead of Mastery depending on your current gear.

You can also obtain a flask of your choice from Algari Flask Cauldrons provided by Alchemists.

Tempered Potion is your potion of choice and should be used alongside your major cooldowns and Bloodlust / Heroism. You can also obtain Fleeting Tempered Potion from Algari Potion Cauldron provided by Alchemists.

Algari Healing Potion is the current best healing potion. Using this has a 5-minute cooldown, but multiple can be consumed in an extended boss fight should it go on long enough. Additionally, Warlock's Healthstones do not share a cooldown with other healing consumables. Remember to use it as well if you are holding one!

As Critical Strike and Mastery are currently exceptionally strong, you should be using secondary food so long as either are your current highest stat. The The Sushi Special feast or any of Outsider's Provisions, Beledar's Bounty, Jester's Board or Empress' Farewell for personal food provides this.

Your weapon enhancement consumable of choice is Algari Mana Oil to provide additional Critical Strike and Haste, as it is more beneficial than the attack power from Ironclaw Whetstone.

In addition, if you can afford it, you should use Crystallized Augment Runes to increase your primary stat. Augment Runes are expensive, and disappear on death, so use them wisely!
