On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Affliction Warlock for each boss of the following raid: Vault of the Incarnates. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Season 4.

Introduction

In this section, you will find information for each boss in Vault of the Incarnates as a Affliction Warlock. These are not complete encounter guides but provide specific tips for any Affliction Warlock on each boss.

2.

Affliction Warlock Talents in Vault of the Incarnates

Listed below is the default talent setup recommended for the raid. However, if a boss requires a substantially different setup, it will be mentioned in the respective section.

Eranog

The standard talent configuration listed at the top of this page is suggested.

3.1.

Tips

Two phases boss with some cleave and a single target burst requirement.

Shadowfury Icon Shadowfury can be used to stun the adds after they spawn.

Demonic Circle Icon Demonic Circle can also be used to trivialize some movements and to move outside of the ring of fire in phase 2.

Terros

The standard talent configuration listed at the top of this page is suggested.

4.1.

Tips

Single target encounter.

Warlock innate passive damage mitigation and abilities like Dark Pact Icon Dark Pact and Unending Resolve Icon Unending Resolve can be used for great effect during damage events such as Rock Blast Icon Rock Blast.

Make sure to have preplaced Demonic Gateway Icon Demonic Gateway to assist with the movement requirement of Resonating Annihilation Icon Resonating Annihilation.

The Primal Council

Sustained cleave build is suggested:

Tips

Council fight with a single phase and four targets.

Dark Pact Icon Dark Pact and/or Unending Resolve Icon Unending Resolve can be used when soaking Meteor Axes Icon Meteor Axes to mitigate the damage.

Touch the pool of fire once when you have 5 stacks of the debuff during Primal Blizzard Icon Primal Blizzard.

Sennarth, the Cold Breath

Single target setup with Wrath of Consumption Icon Wrath of Consumption.

6.1.

Tips

Two phases single target boss with frequent adds.

Demonic Circle Icon Demonic Circle can nullify both Gossamer Burst Icon Gossamer Burst and Repelling Burst Icon Repelling Burst when timed correctly.

Generally, try to keep Unstable Affliction Icon Unstable Affliction on the boss and tag adds with Agony Icon Agony to gain additional resources. Drain Soul Icon Drain Soul should also be used to snipe shards.

In phase two, Affliction has no real AoE burst to handle Suffocating Webs Icon Suffocating Webs, but simply tagging them will trigger Soul Flame Icon Soul Flame.

Due to frequent adds spawning there is opportunity for extremely high uptime on Wrath of Consumption Icon Wrath of Consumption.

Dathea, Ascended

The standard talent configuration listed at the top of this page is suggested.

7.1.

Tips

Single phase boss with multiple adds.

Demonic Circle Icon Demonic Circle can trivialise Cyclone Icon Cyclone mechanic.

Dark Pact Icon Dark Pact and eventually Unending Resolve Icon Unending Resolve can mitigate Conductive Mark Icon Conductive Mark damage.

Kurog Grimtotem

The standard talent configuration listed at the top of this page is suggested.

8.1.

Tips

Two phases single target encounter with occasional adds.

Use Dark Pact Icon Dark Pact and Unending Resolve Icon Unending Resolve to mitigate Absolute Zero Icon Absolute Zero if required.

Pool resources for when the boss will hit phase 2 at 66% and 33% of HP when 2 elemental will spawn and need to be burned down as quickly as possible.

Broodkeeper Diurna

Cleave setup opting for Inevitable Demise Icon Inevitable Demise:

Tips

Single phase encounter with few adds present for most of the encounter.

Dark Pact Icon Dark Pact and Unending Resolve Icon Unending Resolve can mitigate the damage of Greatstaff of the Broodkeeper Icon Greatstaff of the Broodkeeper or Clutchwatcher's Rage Icon Clutchwatcher's Rage when cracking open multiple eggs.

Icy Shroud Icon Icy Shroud movement penalty can be bypassed by both Burning Rush Icon Burning Rush and Demonic Circle Icon Demonic Circle particularly when used with Soulburn Icon Soulburn. Mortal Coil Icon Mortal Coil can be used to help lower the healing absorption.

Raszageth the Storm-Eater

A single target build with Sow the Seeds Icon Sow the Seeds to handle intermission adds is suggested.

Tips

Three-phase single target boss with some adds during the two Intermissions.

Demonic Circle Icon Demonic Circle can solve lot of movement requirements in the fight, such as Hurricane Wing Icon Hurricane Wing and Static Charge Icon Static Charge.

While cooldown management can vary between different groups due to total raid DPS, it is important to pool resources for Focused Charge Icon Focused Charge at the beginning of phase 2.

Cycling defensive cooldowns will help alleviate the pressure on healers so make good use of Dark Pact Icon Dark Pact, Unending Resolve Icon Unending Resolve and consider even spending a Soulburn Icon Soulburn on Healthstone Icon Healthstone or Drain Life Icon Drain Life in a dire situation.

Proactively placing a Demonic Gateway Icon Demonic Gateway can trivialise Magnetic Charge Icon Magnetic Charge in the last phase, especially during dangerous overlaps with Lightning Breath Icon Lightning Breath.
