Gearing a Fury Warrior
Welcome to our Gearing Page for Fury Warrior, this section will cover everything you need to know about equipping your character correctly.
If you have a new piece of gear that you need gems and enchants advice for, you can find everything you need on our dedicated page below.
The Importance of "Simming Yourself" as a Fury Warrior
At this stage in the game, and despite the stat priority, there are so many variables and so many layers of optimization that you can apply to your character, that there is no way for a guide or anything else to tell you exactly what gear you should wear. This is why we always recommend simulating your own character using Raidbots. The website can help you choose set bonuses, trinkets and combinations thereof in a way that is tailored completely to your specific character. Learning to use this tool is essential to maximizing your potential, as there is simply no other way to take all the variables into account.
Droptimizer
The Droptimizer feature from Raidbots lets you identify which dungeons and Raid Bosses you should spend your Bonus Rolls on. It simulates all of the potential upgrades in a raid or a dungeon, and lists the bosses/dungeons by rank order of how much DPS you can expect to gain from bonus rolling on it. We have a guide for it that you can access using the link below.
General Simulations
While we heavily recommend simming yourself, you can find some of our general simulations on the dedicated page below.
Legendary Powers for Fury Warrior
With the addition of
Unity, all Fury Warriors will automatically
gain the effect of their Covenant Legendary power. This allows
Deathmaker to be used at the same time, interchanged with
Signet of Tormented Kings in Mythic+ dungeons.
Legendaries should always be crafted in slots which grant a free socket: Head, Neck, Wrist, Waist, or Ring, ideally without conflicting with tier set slots: Head, Shoulder, Chest, Hands, Legs. This makes Neck, Wrist, Waist, and Ring the best general places to craft Legendaries when possible.
For a more detailed explanation of Legendary picks worth looking at, and when you should consider crafting or using them, look at our dedicated Legendary page below:
Tier Set Bonuses
In Patch 9.2, every class will once again earn pieces of a gear set uniquely tailored with two- and four-piece set bonuses for each specialization. For Fury Warrior, these set bonuses are:
Fury Warrior 2-Piece —
Raging Blow deals 15% increased damage and gains an additional charge.
Fury Warrior 4-Piece —
Raging Blow has a 20% chance to grant
Recklessness for 4 sec.
The two piece passively increases damage, though the third charge works
very well alongside Hack and Slash to almost entirely replace
Whirlwind with
Raging Blow, which results in more
Recklessness procs from the four piece. Although the general
playstyle of Fury does not change dramatically, the increased frequency of
Raging Blow and reduced use of
Whirlwind actually
simplifies the rotation more than anything else.
Fury Warriors should generally prioritize the tier set Helmet, Shoulders, Chest, and Legs, although priority should be given to completing the set bonuses rather than holding out for specific pieces of gear. If opportunity allows, Helmet may also be forgone in order to free up a valuable Legendary crafting slot. Once the Creation Catalyst unlocks, any piece of gear may be converted into a pre-defined piece of tier gear, including normally offpiece items including Bracer, Belt, Cloak, and Boots. This makes completing sets and gearing much easier, although that system is not intended to become available for several weeks.
Shards of Domination Sockets
Shards of Domination have been depreciated and will no longer work outside of the The Maw or Torghast. This means they are useless in Mythic+ dungeons and in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid.
Valor
Certain Mythic+ and world drop gear may be upgraded with Valor Points, a special currency gained from a variety of activities. While we have a dedicated Valor page covering the details of the system, the important thing to know is that items can only be upgraded to a maximum of 272 item level, making them less competitive than Great Vault and Mythic Raid gear. That said, upgrading low item level slots, particularly weapons or trinkets, can help fill gaps in your gearing whenever you do not have access to higher item level pieces.
Legion Timewalking Gear
With the addition of Legion Timewalking Mythic+ dungeons becoming available in March, several new items will become available. Although the gear will be capped to a lower item level than items available from the Sanctum of Domination raid and will not be obtainable from the Great Vault, they can be upgraded through Valor, which may allow for some upgrades.
Most of the Legion Timewalking gear is not particularly important, as even
the previously coveted Jeweled Signet of Melandrus has been nerfed,
though the
Faulty Countermeasure trinket stands out as one of the most
powerful single target trinkets currently in the game, and may be well worth
farming when opportunity allows.
Stats
Many people have a tendency to overthink the distribution of their secondary stats. An important thing to remember is that a higher quantity of stats is nearly always better than a better quality of stats. Because of this, wearing higher item level gear with worse stats tends to be better than lower item level gear with great stats. Keep this in mind when considering gear. For more stats information, please refer to our dedicated page.
Best in Slot List for Fury Warrior
Fury Warriors now have the option of dual-wielding one or two-handed weapons, giving them more flexibility in gearing than ever before. Currently, the difference between them is fairly small, though two-handed weapons are slightly stronger and easier to gear for by switching to Arms loot specialization. Keep in mind that you must still use two of the same type, and should not use a one-handed weapon and a two-handed together at the same time.
This Best in Slot list represents the best combination of gear obtainable within Sepulcher of the First Ones, but due to the existence of Mythic+ dungeons and the weekly Great Vault, it is possible to obtain other competitive items as well. Because not everyone is a Mythic raider, PvP Gladiator, or clears Mythic+15 every week, this list is more of a guideline for the best pieces to keep an eye out from Sepulcher of the First Ones, and we recommend using Raidbots to sim the items you actually have available to you in order to find your best combination of gear.

Trinket Comparisons
Class damage buffs and debuffs such as Enrage do not increase the
damage of non-class spells, such as potions, enchants, and trinket damage.
This trinket list compares all current trinkets at various equal item levels, meant as a guideline to help prioritize upgrades, so care should be taken when asssessing your own pieces should they vary in item level or bonuses. As always, simming your own gear is recommended.
