About Our Author

This guide has been written by Azortharion, the main theorycrafter of the spec. He is also an accomplished player who raids in Solaris. You can also watch his stream on Twitch.

1. Gems

You should use Masterful Shadowruby Icon Masterful Shadowruby gems in all available sockets. The Saber's Eye of Agility Icon Saber's Eye of Agility is not worth using, as 150 Mastery is worth more than 200 Agility at this point.

2. Enchants

Slot Enchantment

Note that if Critical Strike is better than Mastery (only known by simming yourself, as per the stats section of this guide), you should use Critical Strike gems and enchants. Deadly Eye of Prophecy Icon Deadly Eye of Prophecy is the Critical Strike gem, and Enchant Ring - Binding of Critical Strike Icon Enchant Ring - Binding of Critical Strike is the Critical Strike ring enchant.

3. Consumables

Flask of the Seventh Demon Icon Flask of the Seventh Demon should be used for raids along with Potion of Prolonged Power Icon Potion of Prolonged Power as your potion of choice. You should eat Nightborne Delicacy Platter Icon Nightborne Delicacy Platter for the Mastery buff (or Barracuda Mrglgagh Icon Barracuda Mrglgagh, if you cannot afford the +375 food). Ancient Healing Potion Icon Ancient Healing Potion should also be used when at low health.

If Critical Strike happens to be your best stat (see the Stats section of the guide), you should be using The Hungry Magister Icon The Hungry Magister as your food buff instead.

If you can afford it, you should also use the Legion augment rune: Defiled Augment Rune Icon Defiled Augment Rune. Note that it now works in Mythic+ dungeons (it did not used to).
