General Information

On this page, we go over several of the most frequently asked questions regarding Outlaw Rogue in World of Warcraft — Battle for Azeroth Shadowlands Pre-Patch 9.0.1. This will be updated as more common repeated questions surface over the course of the expansion.

Is there a Haste Cap for Outlaw Rogue?

There is currently no breakpoint which is required for Outlaw, nor is there a realistic value which causes Haste to become useless.

Should Outlaw Rogue Use a Fast or Slow Off-Hand?

What speed your weapon is does not matter, as long as the item level is the same. When choosing between two different off-hand weapon choices, choose the higher item level one.

What Stats do I Want for Mythic+ as an Outlaw Rogue?

Versatility. While Critical Strike offers about the same damage as Versatility does, the reduced damage taken that Versatility grants makes it much better in Mythic+.

Which Race is the Best for Outlaw Rogue?

The DPS differences between the races are fairly minimal. The best races for DPS on Horde are Blood Elf, Zandalari Trolls with the Embrace of Pa'ku and Troll. For Alliance Dwarfs, Void Elf and Kul'tiran are the best.

What Items are Best for Outlaw Rogue?

Generally that depends on the rest of your gear, due to how secondary stats interact with one another. When it comes to comparing Azerite pieces, it becomes even more convoluted, as some of the traits have non stacking effects, such as percentage-based proc chances or duration increases, thus making it even harder for you to estimate, as such you are generally better off using sims to compare pieces (and in Azerite's case compare multiple trait combinations for each piece), in order to find the best option for you.

We have a guide on how to sim yourself here:

What Azerite Traits do I Want as an Outlaw Rogue?

Currently the go to Azerite traits for raiding are Deadshot Icon Deadshot and Between the Eyes Icon Between the Eyes. You will also want one Brigand's Blitz Icon Brigand's Blitz for both single-target and multi-target encounters. If there are frequent opportunities to strike multiple targets at once, replace one of your Deadshot or Between the Eyes Traits with Keep Your Wits About You Icon Keep Your Wits About You.

For Mythic+ your ideal setup will include two Deadshot Icon Deadshot, two Between the Eyes Icon Between the Eyes, one Brigand's Blitz Icon Brigand's Blitz as well as one Keep Your Wits About You Icon Keep Your Wits About You.
