Best Enchants, Gems, and Consumables for Outlaw Rogue in Midnight
This section specifically covers the optimal gems, enchants, food, and flasks to use for your character. To get a more detailed rundown of the different stats for Outlaw Rogue, please visit our dedicated Stats page.
When shopping for enchants, gems, or potions, make sure to buy the highest rank only if you can afford it. The below listed information refers to their names, but higher ranks of the same enhancement provide better benefits.
Recommended Gems
The choice of gems is highly dependent on your gear. Each of the four secondary stats can easily be your most worthwhile stat for gems, depending on the current gear you are wearing, and as a result, the choice of gems and ring enchants can vary a lot. We highly recommend simming yourself to find out the best set of gems for your character specifically via Raidbots.
You should use
Indecipherable Eversong Diamond in one socket, or
Powerful Eversong Diamond
if you are reaching very high crit levels. Alternatively you
can choose to not play a Prismatic gem, which will allow you to stack more of the same-colored
secondary stat gems instead. The difference here is very minor, so you can go with the choice
that best suits your money-bag.
For your secondary stat gems, pick Crit or Haste gems, like
Flawless Deadly Peridot
or
Flawless Quick Garnet. If you plan on playing a Prismatic gem for the minor crit-damage
bonus, make sure to grab at least one of each gem type, like
Flawless Deadly Lapis and
Flawless Deadly Amethyst,
and then fill the remaining slows with the higher-value gems that we listed first.
Enchants and Weapon Oil
You will want to run Critical Strike enchants on your rings, and on your weapon. Make sure to sim yourself as there is still a point where Crit might no longer be your best stat.

Whether you choose to enchant your gear with Avoidance, Leech, or Speed is
up to you. Leech will allow you to gain some additional passive healing while
you do damage, Avoidance reduces the damage taken by Area-of-Effect spells,
similar to
Feint, and Speed simply increases your movement speed. For
Raid progression, movement speed is often underrated and can be a minor DPS
increase if it allows you to reach your target faster.
It is always recommended to sim yourself to find out what enchants provide the best benefit to you individually.
Consumable Recommendations for Outlaw Rogue
In addition to enchants and improvements to your gear, making sure you come prepared with the right consumables to endgame content has a big impact on your performance.
Flask
You will want to grab
Flask of the Shattered Sun as your go-to Flask for the Crit bonus,
unless this would put you over the ~40% Crit mark, at which point you want to play
Flask of the Blood Knights instead.
You can also obtain a flask of your choice from
Cauldron of Sin'dorei Flaskss
provided by Alchemists.
Potions
Potion of Recklessness is your best option, and should be paired with major
cooldowns and
Bloodlust /
Heroism. You can also obtain
temporary versions of the potion from
Voidlight Potion Cauldron provided
by Alchemists.
Silvermoon Health Potion is the current best healing potion. Using
this has a 5-minute cooldown, but multiple can be consumed in an extended boss
fight should it go on long enough. Additionally, Warlock's
Healthstone does not share a cooldown with other healing consumables.
Remember to use it as well if you are holding one!
Foodbuff
Try to chomp down on
Silvermoon Parade or another primary stat feast if possible. If
this is not provided by your group, stick to
Royal Roast as your personal food instead.
In addition to stat food, you can also consume some crafting-profession teas that ever so slightly increase your movement speed. This effect stacks with regular buff food, and while Rogue tends to not lack in mobility that much, these teas are cheap to acquire and provide ~4% movement speed. You can pick whichever one is cheapest on the auction house or to craft yourself:
Sanguithorn Tea
Azeroot Tea
Argentleaf Tea
Augment Runes for Outlaw Rogue
In addition, if you can afford it, you should use
Void-Touched Augment Runes
to increase your primary stat. Augment Runes are expensive and disappear on death,
so use them wisely and sparingly!
