This page will cover all relevant changes to Professions in the Shadowlands.

Under each section, we will also link to our dedicated page for that profession. Those pages contain information on how to level the professions and how to get the most out of them.

1.

General Profession Changes in Shadowlands

Optional Reagents are reagents that can be mixed into various item recipes for all of the Professions. Depending on the type of Reagent that you add to your recipe, you can alter the resulting item's level and stats.

For example, adding the Alchemist's Pouch Icon Alchemist's Pouch Optional Reagent to an item craft will cause the item to increase the duration of any Flasks you drink while it is equipped.

In addition to Optional Reagents, all Crafting Professions can craft the same set of "Crafter's Mark" items that go up to level 5. These can be used in item crafts to increase the item level of the final item. These items are the same between Professions, but the reagents required can change.

1.1.

Legendary Crafting

In Shadowlands, new Legendary items are crafted by either Blacksmithing (Plate), Leatherworking (Leather/Mail), Tailoring (Cloth/Cloaks), or Jewelcrafting (Jewelry Items).

The base Legendary items are crafted by either of these Professions. These base items must be combined with certain other items to give you a working Legendary item.

All Crafting Professions except for Jewelcrafting can craft Legendary Base Items for every Armor Slot except for Jewelry, which only Jewelcrafting can do.

For even more detailed information about Legendary Items in Shadowlands, check out our dedicated guide below.
