General Information

On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Arms Warrior for each boss of the following raid: Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.1.7.

1.

Introduction

Below, you can find class and spec-specific advice for every fight in Aberrus. If you are looking for a general overview of the Raid that is not spec-specific, check out our dedicated Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible guides.

On this page, you will find Arms Warrior specific information to deal with each boss in the Aberrus raid.

This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Arms Warrior and how you can deal with each fight as best as possible.

Disclaimer: These tips are based on the limited testing done on the PTR. Encounters are subject to change; Blizzard may have reworked mechanics or abilities that you used to be able to Spell Reflection Icon Spell Reflection may no longer be reflectable.

Arms Warriors are less versatile than other classes because they must specialize in single-target or multitarget capabilities, losing damage in one area to gain in another. As many encounters feature varying amounts of adds, each fight is a judgment call based on how many extra targets there are, how high of a priority they are, and how much extra multitarget damage the raid group needs.

2.

Kazzara, the Hellforged

2.1.

Talents

Kazzara is a completely single-target encounter.

2.2.

Tips

  • Heroic Leap can be used to quickly move when targeted by Dread Rift Icon Dread Rift or Ray of Anguish Icon Ray of Anguish.
  • Use Heroic Leap or Charge to counter the knockback from Wings of Extinction Icon Wings of Extinction.
  • Hellsteel Carnage Icon Hellsteel Carnage is a good time to use Rallying Cry.
  • Nothing is completely spell reflectable, but it can still be used as a general damage reduction cooldown.
3.

The Amalgamation Chamber

3.1.

Talents

The Amalgamation Chamber is a single target encounter against two separate bosses which merge together at the end. On normal difficulty, they can be cleaved together, but higher difficulties will remain purely single target.

3.2.

Tips

  • Use Heroic Leap to quickly drop Umbral Detonation Icon Umbral Detonation away from the group and quickly dodge Coalescing Void Icon Coalescing Void or Gloom Conflagration Icon Gloom Conflagration.
  • Nothing is completely spell reflectable, but it can still be used as a general damage reduction cooldown.

For more information, please refer to our Amalgamation Chamber guide.

4.

Assault of the Zaqali

4.1.

Talents

Cleave or Sweeping Strikes to take advantage of multiple targets throughout the encounter. Wrecking Throw Icon Wrecking Throw can also be talented to deal extra damage to Molten Barriers.

4.2.

Tips

  • The first adds spawn about 30 seconds in, with frequent extra targets after.
  • Lava Bolt Icon Lava Bolt can be spell reflected if it happens to target, but will usually be interrupted. Spell Reflect can and should still be used as a general damage reduction cooldown.
  • Wrecking Throw Icon Wrecking Throw can be talented to deal extra damage to Molten Barrier Icon Molten Barrier.
5.

The Forgotten Experiments

5.1.

Talents

The fight is best treated as a single target encounter, using Improved Sweeping Strikes Icon Improved Sweeping Strikes on Mythic difficulty due to two bosses being active at one time.

5.2.

Tips

  • The second phase, Thadrion, will afflict players with Unstable Essence Icon Unstable Essence, summoning Erratic Remnant adds that should be burst down quickly before Violent Eruption Icon Violent Eruption. These will continue to spawn throughout the rest of the encounter.
  • Nothing is completely spell reflectable, but it can still be used as a general damage reduction cooldown.

For more information, please refer to our Forgotten Experiments guide.

6.

Rashok, the Elder

6.1.

Talents

Rashok is a pure single-target encounter.

6.2.

Tips

  • Heroic Leap can be used to quickly place Searing Slam Icon Searing Slam or soak Doom Flames Icon Doom Flames.
  • Nothing is completely spell reflectable, but it can still be used as a general damage reduction cooldown.
7.

The Vigilant Steward, Zskarn

7.1.

Talents

Zskarn is a mostly single-target encounter with three periodically spawning Golems to destroy. Because they die so quickly and Sweeping Strikes is already baseline, it is not typically worth investing in multitarget talents.

7.2.

Tips

  • Three golem adds will spawn periodically throughout the fight, which is the perfect time to use Sweeping Strikes, but avoid holding other cooldowns for them, since the adds die very quickly.
  • The knockback from Blast Wave Icon Blast Wave can be countered with Charge or Heroic Leap.
  • Tactical Destruction Icon Tactical Destruction has a very generous lead time, so it can usually just be run out of without needing Heroic Leap.
  • Nothing is completely spell reflectable, but it can still be used as a general damage reduction cooldown.

For more information, please refer to our Zskarn guide.

8.

Magmorax

8.1.

Talents

Magmorax is entirely single target.

8.2.

Tips

  • Overpowering Stomp Icon Overpowering Stomp is a long-range knockback which is completely trivialized by Charge.
  • Nothing is completely spell reflectable, but it can still be used as a general damage reduction cooldown.

For more information, please refer to our Magmorax guide.

9.

Echo of Neltharion

9.1.

Talents

Neltharion is mostly single target, with numerous waves of adds spawning towards the end of the encounter.

9.2.

Tips

  • Most strategies involve tanks and select players breaking walls, with all other players taking mechanics like Rushing Darkness Icon Rushing Darkness and Volcanic Heart Icon Volcanic Heart to the edge of the arena.
  • In Phase 2 on Heroic and Mythic difficulty, be very careful of cleaving friendly players affected by Corruption Icon Corruption, as they cannot be healed.
  • In Phase 3, save cooldowns for adds coming out of Sunder Reality Icon Sunder Reality portals to quickly eliminate them before Unstable Mutation Icon Unstable Mutation ramps their damage to deadly levels. Avoid standing in the portal directly apart from Ebon Destruction Icon Ebon Destruction casts, though, as it will incur a large damage reduction penalty.
  • Nothing is completely spell reflectable, but it can still be used as a general damage reduction cooldown.
10.

Scalecommander Sarkareth

10.1.

Talents

Sarkareth is a three-phase encounter with heavy movement, featuring periodic groups of adds in the second and third phases.

10.2.

Tips

  • In Phase 1, Scorching Bomb Icon Scorching Bomb explosions can be spell reflected, preventing the debuff from being applied. These always explode in pairs, so use Spell Reflect after the first goes off to reduce its damage and reflect the second.
  • Stacking Oblivion Icon Oblivion to 10 sends players into The Emptiness Between Stars, which should generally be avoided but can be used tactically to collect smaller Astral Flare Icon Astral Flare orbs.
  • In Phase 2, save cooldowns for Null Glimmer adds spawned by Abyssal Breath Icon Abyssal Breath, though be wary of standing in the ground effect it leaves behind or Desolate Blossom Icon Desolate Blossom spawned shortly thereafter, as both will quickly stack Oblivion Icon Oblivion.
  • In Phase 3, cooldowns should also be saved for Null Glimmer adds spawned after every Cosmic Ascension Icon Cosmic Ascension, though this happens less frequently, allowing shorter cooldowns to be used in between. Avoid ever moving in front of the boss so that you do not get hit by Void Slash Icon Void Slash.
  • Nothing else in Phase 2 or 3 can be spell reflected, so use it as a periodic damage reduction cooldown instead.
