Subtlety Rogue DPS Vault of the Incarnates Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.7

On this page, you will find Subtlety-Rogue-specific information to deal with each boss in the Vault of the Incarnates raid. This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Subtlety Rogues and what you can do to deal with each fight as best as possible.

The Rogue community has often worked together to compile information on which abilities can be mitigated or completely avoided through the use of Feint, Cloak of Shadows and Evasion. This compilation of information has been dubbed the "Book of Shadows", and includes information on most major dungeon and raid mechanics.

While not yet populated with any information, the community is planning on working together once more to help newcomers and experienced players alike. Anybody can do so by submitting information on these interactions through the form, and hopefully, together, we will be able to figure out how best to use our defensive toolkit in Vault of the Incarnates and Mythic+.

Below is the most commonly used build for single-target, which you will use for most raid encounters.

You can easily import the talent tree below into the game by pressing 'Copy Export String':

Because of how the Subtlety spec tree is structured, taking AoE talents reduces our single-target by quite a bit. AoE talent builds can be better for overall damage on certain bosses while being detrimental to the raid progress.

Also note that the Rogue Class tree forces us to make choices between Feint, Cheat Death, Master Poisoner, and Fleet Footed, as we need more points to get all of them without sacrificing DPS. The boss-specific talent links will be optimized with this in mind, as Feint can be useless on some bosses.

You can run through the flame walls, which Primal Flame spawns with Cloak of Shadows.

Pop Evasion if the Primal Flame fixates you adds.

Recommended Talents:

Feint works on most mechanics on this boss.

Cloak of Shadows can be used to immune the initial damage and the DoT from tanks clearing pillars.

Since this boss is a permanent 4-target cleave fight, the recommended talent build here will be more AoE-focused.

Recommended Talents:

Make sure to apply Rupture to each boss outside of your Shadow Dance windows.

Cloak of Shadows removes certain debuffs on you such as Conductive Mark.

Vanish removes all stacks of Sticky Webbing.

Cast Shadowstep if you get pulled off by Gossamer Burst.

Use Shuriken Storm to generate more Combo Points when the small adds spawn.

Recommended Talents:

Cloak of Shadows and Shadowstep can be used to negate the knockback caused by Volatile Infusers dying.

Cloak of Shadows also removes the debuff from Conductive Mark.

Recommended Talents:

Cloak of Shadows can be used to remove Enveloping Earth and you can solo soak Absolute Zero with it.

Generally speaking, if you are a Subtlety Rogue on this fight, you will be on the add group, thus speccing into AoE. If you are on the boss, simply take a full single-target-focused build.

Cloak of Shadows can be used to remove stacks of Wildfire in case you get multiple as well as removing the healing absorption debuff from Frozen Shroud.

Vanish can be saved to remove your own Frozen Shroud instantly.

Shadowstep and Shadowstrike from Vanish should be used for extra mobility on this fight as well as getting over mechanics like Tempest Wing to prevent damage taken.

Cloak of Shadows can be used to negate the pushback from Hurricane Wing completely, and it makes you immune to Lightning Devastation if you are about to get hit.
