BiS Gear Guide for Survival Hunter
Welcome to our Gear and BiS Page for Survival Hunter for Season 4. Check this page to learn everything you need to know about gearing a Survival Hunter, including the BiS Gear from all sources, Raiding, and Mythic+, information on the best Trinkets, Tier Sets, and much more.
For discussion and information on Stats specifically, check out our Stats page below.
Best Gear To Spend Bullions On For Survival Hunter in Season 4
Season 4 offers a way to target specific, powerful items with the new
Antique Bronze Bullion. Here are the best items to spend your Bullions
on in Dragonflight Season 4 as a Survival Hunter
Rashon, the Immortal Blaze — Our best weapon.
Ashes of the Embersoul — Our undisputed BiS Trinket for all scenarios.
- Our next BiS Trinket depends on your preferred content.
Cataclysmic Signet Brand for Raiding and Single-Target scenarios, and
Ominous Chromatic Essence for Mythic+/AoE scenarios. They are pretty similar otherwise.
Seal of Diurna's Chosen — This Ring is not that special, but it is stronger than all other Rings, and very hotly contested. You might not want to spend a Bullion on this until you have a socket to put in it.
Voice of the Silent Star — Around ~0.7% better than all other Cloaks, but it has no Stamina. If you are doing high Mythic+ where survivability is paramount, you may want to skip this item entirely.
- At this point, there are no obvious choices left. Consider a
Whispering Incarnate Icon as an occasional
Ominous Chromatic Essence. It offers more of a stat than OCE, but it only offers Crit. If your best Essence stat is currently Crit, then an Icon in its place would be better.
When To Replace Season 3 Tier Set for Survival Hunter
For Raiding/Single-Target scenarios, you can start replacing your old Tier Set once you have the 2pc of the new one.
For Mythic+/AoE scenarios, you actually want to keep your old 4PC, as the Season 4 Tier Set is relatively poor for AoE scenarios. So, do not delete your old Tier Set!

Best Gear Upgrades for Survival Hunter
You will be able to upgrade your items via Crests such as
Aspect's Awakened Crest. Once you have upgraded a slot to a certain item
level, upgrading other items of that slot to that item level is free.
When you upgrade with Crests, you should think of it as upgrading slots and not items.
Additionally, since Crests are a limited resource, you will want to obtain the highest item-level possible before upgrading a given slot, as this means you will spend fewer Crests on that slot in total. If you are at all capable of doing a +9 Dungeon, for example, it would be a VERY bad idea to upgrade an item from a +8 Dungeon.
Below is the slot priority you should upgrade your items in.
- Weapons
- Trinkets
- Helm/Chest/Legs
- Shoulders/Gloves/Belt/Boots
- Rings and Necks
- Cloaks and Bracers
Note that exceptions are possible, such as special items that have more iLvl
scaling than their slot would imply. Think of things like
Voice of the Silent Star and
Seal of Diurna's Chosen.
"Simming" Yourself as a Survival Hunter
Throughout this page, we will regularly refer to the importance of simming yourself on Raidbots, as it is an indispensable aspect of optimizing your character.
While we do offer generic sim charts for Trinkets, this should not be a replacement for simming yourself, at least not if you want to minmax sub-1%!
If you are new to simming and Raidbots, check out our detailed guide below.
Season 4 Tier Set for Survival Hunter
The Tier Set is comprised of 5 items, all carrying the Blazing Dreamstalker's moniker. Unique DPS bonuses are unlocked when wearing 2, and 4 pieces from the set:
- 2 pieces:
Survival Hunter 2pc increases
Mongoose Bite/
Raptor Strike/
Carve/
Butchery damage increased by 18%.
- 4 pieces:
Survival Hunter 4pc causes
Mongoose Bite/
Raptor Strike/
Carve/
Butchery to have a 20% chance to make your next
Mongoose Bite/
Raptor Strike/
Carve/
Butchery cost 10 less Focus and deal 50% increased damage.
The Tier Set Bonus is absolutely mandatory for competitive play, and you should prioritize obtaining it. You can use the Revival Catalyst to convert regular items (from Mythic+, for example) into Tier Items.
You only need 4 pieces out of 5 to get both set bonuses. We recommend you get all items except for the Helm, due to its high Mastery. Check out the BiS List for more information.
Best Crafted Items for Survival Hunter
Best Crafted Items for Raiding for Survival Hunter
This section focuses on Crafting for Raiding. We focus mostly on single-target for these, which is why we choose
single-target procs like Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch over Stat Procs like
Elemental Lariat.
In Raids,
Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards proc far more often than they do in Mythic+.
- Your first 2 Crafts should be getting your Embellishments sorted. The best
Embellishments for Raiding has a few considerations;
Acidic Hailstone Treads with
Toxified Armor Patch (on a Belt, probably) is, strictly speaking, a bit ahead of other options, but comes with a 20% permanent slow, which I do not recommend. For a non-slow option, I instead recommend the
Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards and
Torc of Passed Time with
Blue Silken Lining.
- Once your Embellishments are sorted, you should chase raw Item Level on the biggest-budget items. What follows is a generic ranking of the highest-value items, to increase your Item Level with.
Signet of Titanic Insight/
Ring-Bound Hourglass. Note that the Hourglass cannot take Embellishments. You will eventually replace these Rings, but they are great in the short-term for their free socket.
- From this point, I strongly recommend you sim yourself to work out future crafts.
Best Crafted Items for Mythic+ for Survival Hunter
This section focuses on Crafting for Mythic+. Stat Procs like Blue Silken Lining
have much higher value than single-target procs like
Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch in AoE
situations, and effects like
Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards proc far less often in Mythic+ compared to Raiding.
- Your first 2 Crafts should be getting your Embellishments sorted. The best
Embellishments for Mythic is more straightforward; I recommend the
Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards and
Torc of Passed Time with
Blue Silken Lining..
Trinkets for Survival Hunter in Season 4
There are a number of strong options available for Survival Hunter in Season 4 coming from a variety of different sources. Some relevant ones to look for in order of strength are:
Trinket | Note |
---|---|
![]() |
The strongest Trinket in the game for us, bar none. |
![]() |
An immensely powerful damage-dealing Trinket. Deals some damage to you as well, but is so strong that you will likely use it anyway. It also loses some value in stop-start situations like Mythic+, and we replace it for such situations. |
![]() |
Alternative to the Signet Brand for AoE and Mythic+ scenarios. |
![]() |
Decent for most scenarios — Not fantastic by any means, but it is one of our best Mythic+-sourced Trinkets. |
![]() |
Like the Globe, this is just a decent Mythic+-sourced Trinket. |
Trinket Simulations for Survival Hunter
These are generic simulations from Bloodmallet, giving you a rough overview of strong Survival Hunter Trinkets. It is not a replacement for simming yourself, but can still offer a quick reference point.
