On this page, you will find Frost Death Knight specific information to deal with each boss in the Vault of the Incarnates raid. These are not complete encounter guides but specific tips for doing the bosses as a Frost Death Knight.
This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Frost Death Knight and how you can deal with each fight as best as possible.
Best Talents for Frost Death Knight
Breath Raid Build
Obliteration Raid Talents
The main choice you need to make as a Frost Death Knight is whether or not you are playing Breath of Sindragosa or Obliteration. Both builds are competitive on pretty much every single boss (both in top 10 DPS) so it is down to personal preference what you play. I will recommend one Breath of Sindragosa build and one Obliteration build for each boss.
Some other choices involve picking up Abomination Limb for both builds, or Frostwhelp's Aid for Breath of Sindragosa.
Eranog
Talents
For Eranog, Frostwyrm's Fury will gain a lot of Power due to the add spawns. However, the adds do not have that high of a priority, and using Frostwyrm on them, while good for your DPS, is not very good for defeating the boss. I would run the default builds here.
- Breath: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAkIAIikEJiERISSIkIJRECIRkIJJJJJplAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Obliteration: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAcgIAIhkEJiERISSIkIJRkAIhkERSSSSKJBAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tips
- Save your Frostwyrm's Fury for the adds that spawn if you have picked up this talent.
- You can use Death Grip and Abomination Limb to help control the small adds that spawn, grouping them up to help your team AoE them down more quickly.
For more information, please refer to our Eranog guide.
Terros
Talents
A pure Single Target encounter where the default builds are best.
- Breath: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAkIAIikEJiERISSIkIJRECIRkIJJJJJplAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Obliteration: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAcgIAIhkEJiERISSIkIJRkAIhkERSSSSKJBAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tips
- Use your Anti-Magic Zone when the tank clears the spikes.
- Actively use your Anti-Magic Shell when big hits are incoming. Try and time it for when you need extra Runic Power for Breath of Sindragosa!
For more information, please refer to our Terros guide.
The Primal Council
Talents
Stacked 4-target cleave means that our AoE talents gain a lot of value. Abomination Limb for both builds, Frostwhelp's Aid for Breath and even Glacial Advance for Obliteration! We also pick up Coldthirst for the extra Runic Power generation for Breath!
- Breath: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAkIAkIJJkISEhIJhQiIRECIEJJJJJJJplAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Obliteration: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAICASkkQiIREikECJSSEJBIhkERSSSSKJBAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tips
Each boss must die within a few seconds of the others or risk a complete wipe. You will naturally do more damage to your current target, so be sure to target swap to the highest health boss. Make sure to use your Death and Decay as much as possible for the added Obliterate cleave.
- Use Anti-Magic Shell and Anti-Magic Zone to soak up magic damage and generate Runic Power when playing Breath! Meteor Axes is a good opportunity to use these abilities.
For more information, please refer to our The Primal Council guide.
Sennarth, the Cold Breath
Talents
Death's Advance is such a blessing on this fight, making it far easier for us compared to other classes! Even with a moderate amount of adds we recommend the standard default builds. Frostwyrm's Fury is a potential pick-up if you want to pad.
- Breath: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAkIAIikEJiERISSIkIJRECIRkIJJJJJplAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Obliteration: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAcgIAIhkEJiERISSIkIJRkAIhkERSSSSKJBAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tips
The big spider is going to be the biggest priority. Make sure to focus on this as soon as it spawns.
- You can use Anti-Magic Shell to run over patches of ice without taking damage. any
- Use Death's Advance to avoid the pull-in mechanic.
- Save Frostwyrm's Fury for the adds that spawn.
For more information, please refer to our Sennarth guide.
Dathea, Ascended
Talents
Frostwyrm's Fury has good value on this fight when fighting on the add platform. You can even opt to pick up Absolute Zero to bring a stun. We pick up Blinding Sleet here to help with add CC as well as Abomination Limb for the grip utility.
- Breath: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAkIAiIJJkISEhIJhQiIRECIRkIJJJJJplAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Obliteration: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAcgIAiEJJkISEhIJhQiIRkAIhkERSSSSKJBAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tips
- Use Death Grip and Abomination Limb to group up the platform's adds (if you are going there).
- Save Frostwyrm's Fury for the adds (if you pick this talent).
- Use Death's Advance to avoid the pulling effect of the tornado.
- Use Anti-Magic Shell and Anti-Magic Zone during the pulling tornado to generate Runic Power and help your raid survive.
- Use Blinding Sleet to interrupt the platform adds.
For more information, please refer to our Dathea guide.
Kurog Grimtotem
Talents
This is primarily a 2-target encounter on Mythic, giving us good value for our cleave kit. We recommend the default builds with Abomination Limb in this scenario.
- Breath: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAkIAISSCJiERISSIkIJRECIRkIJJJJJplAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Obliteration: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAcgIAIRSCJiERISSIkIJRkAIhkERSSSSKJBAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tips
- Use Anti-Magic Zone to help reduce the raid-wide AoE damage once the boss reaches high energy as well as generating a ton of Runic Power.
- Use Anti-Magic Shell to generate extra Runic Power for your Breath of Sindragosa.
For more information, please refer to our Kurog Grimtotem guide.
Broodkeeper Diurna
Talents
The talent choice here depends on your role during the fight. You are either fighting continuous waves of adds far away from the boss, or doing full Single Target on the boss itself. If you are on adds, make sure to pick up AoE talents to effectively cleave them down. On the boss, just do full Single Target default talents.
-
Boss:
- Breath: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAkIAIikEJiERISSIkIJRECIRkIJJJJJplAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Obliteration: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAcgIAIhkEJiERISSIkIJRkAIhkERSSSSKJBAAAAAAAAAAAA
-
Adds:
- Breath: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAkIAISSCJiERISSIkIJRESCSEJSSSSSSaBAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Obliteration: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAICASIJRiIREikECJSSEJRCcASSEJJJJpkEAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tips
- Leverage Death and Decay as much as possible on the adds (if you are fighting them).
- Use Anti-Magic Zone whenever the staff is active to generate extra Runic Power.
- Use Anti-Magic Shell to immune each application of the Frost debuff.
For more information, please refer to our Broodkeeper Diurna guide.
Raszageth the Storm-Eater
Talents
This fight requires both good priority boss damage, as well as excellent burst cleave. I recommend Absolute Zero for both builds to bring that extra cleave! Furthermore, we pick up Blinding Sleet to help with spark interrupts.
- Breath: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAkIAiIJJkISEhIJhQiIRESCSEJSSSSSSaBAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Obliteration: BsPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAICgIRSCJiERISSIkISEJkgcASSEJJJJpkEAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tips
- Use Death's Advance to avoid the pushback from the boss, trivializing multiple aspects of the fight.
- Use Blinding Sleet, Death Grip, and Mind Freeze to interrupt the sparks, killing them instantly.
- Use Anti-Magic Zone as the sparks on your raid members explode to generate Runic Power and help your raid survive.
- Save Frostwyrm's Fury in Phase 2 for when the adds make it to the center of the platform.
For more information, please refer to our Raszageth guide.
