Protection Warrior Tank Castle Nathria Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5

On this page, you will find Protection Warrior specific information pertaining to each boss in the Castle Nathria.

Additionally, this page assumes you are familiar with the mechanics on each fight. The basics of the tank mechanics are not explained, but rather advice is given on how Protection Warriors can best deal with those mechanics.

Spell Reflection and Shield Block tips will be frequently updated as the abilities which can be reflected / deflected / blocked can change at any time.

As a note, all information provided was given before the release of Dragonflight and therefore will not reflect any changes made after the release of the Dragonflight Pre-patch.

We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Shriekwing.

2. The Wall
3. Glory

• Exsanguinating Bite is blockable so be sure to keep Shield Block up for it. You can also use Phial of Serenity to remove Exsanguinated from yourself if you are Kyrian.
• Use Heroic Leap and Intervene to quickly get out of line of sight when the boss casts Earsplitting Shriek.

• Keep Shield Block up for Jagged Claws, it will help reduce the upcoming damage from the ability. If you are Kyrian you can use Phial of Serenity to remove this bleed.
• Use Spell Reflection or Shield Wall together with Ignore Pain to help reduce the damage of Rip Soul
• Utilize Heroic Leap and Charge / Intervene to move around the room easier.

• Try to have Shield Block up for Vanquishing Strike as it is a blockable attack.
• If needed you can quickly use Taunt 2 times in a row by resetting it with Heroic Leap.
• When helping to soak Ember Blast use Spell Reflection as it will deflect the debuff.

• You can use Spell Reflection to clear one Stasis Trap.
• Make good use out of Heroic Leap, Charge, and Intervene to move around the encounter easier.

We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Hungering Destroyer.

• Spell Reflection can be used to soak Obliterating Rift and to deflect Expunge.
• Use Heroic Leap to quickly move the boss further from the raid before he starts casting Consume. To get back to the raid quickly use Intervene on a close ally.
• Overwhelm is blockable so be sure to have Shield Block up for as many of them as possible.

• Change of Heart can be reflected back on the boss, it still damages players.
• Concentrated Anima can be reflected to prevent add spawning.
• Unconscionable Guilt can be reflected back to the add that casts it.
• Shared Suffering link can be deflected with Spell Reflection which can help you get out of sticky situations.
• You can deflect one tick of Loose Anima with Spell Reflection.

We advise you to use the following Legendaries against The Council of Blood.

• You can use Spell Reflection to deflect 1 stack of Wrong Moves if you happen to mess up the dance.
• You can deflect Dancing Fever and Dark Recital by using Spell Reflection.
• Drain Essence can be reflected back to the boss with Spell Reflection.
• You can Shield Block Waltz of Blood to reduce the damage but you will still get stunned so it is preferable to avoid these. Evasive Lunge is also blockable.
• Heroic Leap , Intervene, and Charge can all be used to move around the large area easier.

• Keeping up Shield Block as much as possible is key in this fight as the majority of the damage is blockable. Using Bolster or Heavy Repercussions is advised to help increase the Shield Block uptime.
• Use Heroic Leap to position yourself behind a pillar quickly before the boss charges with Hateful Gaze.

• Be sure to use Ignore Pain to reduce the damage taken by bleeds. Shield Wall and Last Stand are also strong defensives that should be utilised.
