Here we have two viable choices and one that could see some niche use.
Nature's Balance is nice for the consistent Astral Power generation if
you are cruising through the tower, but
Force of Nature can be a more
defensive oriented option.

You will mainly be taking Wild Charge for the short cooldown
disengage in
Moonkin Form, which will best assist kiting mobs throughout
the tower.

Restoration Affinity grants the spell
Ursol's Vortex, which
adds another utility button to help round up and then kite large groups of mobs
or even that one scary one. The bonus healing is a definite plus as well.
If you do need the extra interrupt for spooky caster packs, you can choose
Guardian Affinity and use
Incapacitating Roar to disorient a
cast you could not otherwise interrupt.

A weakness in Balance Druid's kit has normally been its lack of a single
target stun, which is most often used as a secondary interrupt. Getting into a
fight with a caster that either spam casts or cannot be blanket silenced by
Solar Beam is the hardest thing to deal with.
Mighty Bash is
the most common choice on this row barring some niche circumstances or build.

This row is a bit more of a toss up and you can generally chose what feels
the overall best. Starlord will most likely by go-to choice for its
persistent effect on every pull. At the same time, a longer duration and more
powerful cooldown in
Incarnation: Chosen of Elune can help burst down
strong foes quickly before they burn you down first.
Soul of the Forest is not entirely bad but is worse than both options
on single target. Additionally, you can sometimes have trouble cleaving multiple
mobs as they are often moving around and chasing you and cleave range of
Starfire can often be too small to hit off of larger hit box units as
well. Better in groups.

Stellar Drift is too strong to be passed up inside Torghast. The
mobility alone is invaluable while it still also outperforms
Twin Moons
in most situations. Twin Moons could potentially be used in some DoT centric run
to quickly get out more
Moonfires but it will come at the cost of hard
casts if you ever find yourself on the run.

Solstice is the best overall choice for Torghast. The increased
Astral Power generation can come in handy to keep
Starfall up when hard
casting is more difficult.
Best Covenant for Torghast
For solo climbing, we would recommend Night Fae. The small mobs in Torghast
are normally not hard to burn down with our base kit and Anima Powers but single
target is a bit more difficult to overcome. Night Fae also have Covenant-specific
Anima Powers which heavily buff Convoke the Spirits. Some bosses or
elites can be slain in one Convoke or at least severely damaged.
The tower should not decide which Covenant you choose. That being said Kyrian
is better in groups when you can make use of Empower Bond and Venthyr is
well rounded. All three of these options feel the good and usable inside Torghast.
Best Soulbinds for Torghast
Your Soulbinds do not really change. You use Pelagos with Kyrian and Niya with Night Fae. If you decide to choose Venthyr, Theotar the Mad Duke has a better 2+ target soulbind tree than Nadjia the Mistblade
Best Conduits for Torghast
If you are running Night Fae, you should always use
Conflux of Elements which is a flat bonus to your elite nuking
Convoke the Spirits. Overall,
Umbral Intensity and
Fury of the Skies are good for the hybrid nature of Torghast.
For the Endurance and Finesse conduits, Tough as Bark will help you
mitigate more damage while staying in form and
Tireless Pursuit will let
you shift periodically to keep your movement speed up while kiting.
Best Balance Druid Anima Powers
Torghast is a rogue-like dungeon crawl where you gain additional powers to help you tackle the challenges inside the tower. Here we will go over some of the Anima Powers to keep a look out for.
Not all powers will be listed, just those that have been tested or those that seem like they would synergize well with the class. Those not listed have either little information surrounding them or are too poor to use. If you are interesting in lists with all Druid and Generic Anima Powers, please use the buttons below.
Understand that this is a very loose and subjective tier-list of items and
that different playstyles will prefer different powers and some powers activate
others. For example, Draught of Waning Twilight is unusable by itself but
when combined with a general power such as
Corruption Antenna, it can
become quite good.

Elethium Powers
Elethium Powers are strong buffs that come with severe drawbacks that can
range from healing reductions to loss of character control. The ones with the
healing reduction passives require you to play much safer as you wont be able to
easily top yourself off if you hit a rough patch and are considered "win more"
options. Elethium Veil and
Elethium Weights are strong
throughput increases, but can cause personal frustrations down the line.
Balance Druid Playstyle for Torghast, Tower of the Damned
Balance Druid is a well-rounded Torghast climber. With plenty of abilities to help maintain distance and Health, it can often pull off strong runs. Below we will further talk have some tips on consistently prevailing against the Jailer.
- Balance Druids are kiting machines. If you ever find yourself in a pinch,
feel free to use any of your low cooldown utility spells. Keep your distance
using mobility (
Dash /
Wild Charge), displacements (
Typhoon /
Ursol's Vortex), and now even stuns (
Mighty Bash). On top of all this,
Stellar Drift can keep you mobile and keep your DPS up for as long as you can maintain the buff.
- Use your cooldowns often to clear out dangerous packs and Elites or Bosses. There is no timer on Torghast so you can take your time and save yourself the potential deaths.
- Use
Entangling Roots to separate dangerous enemies when possible. Burst down your one target and swap to the other afterwards.
- Balance Druid gains even more access to healing spells through both Anima
Power as well as talenting
Restoration Affinity. When low, focus on getting away and getting yourself healed up the best you can before the mobs reach you again.
