General Information

On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Vengeance Demon Hunter for each boss of the following raid: Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Season 4.

1.

Introduction

On this page, you will find Vengeance Demon Hunter specific information to deal with each Boss in the Awakened Raids version of the Aberrus raid. These are not complete encounter guides but instead here to provide particular tips and tricks or alternative talents for each of the bosses as a Vengeance Demon Hunter.

This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Vengeance Demon Hunter and how you can deal with each fight as best as possible.

The build above is your generic single target talent tree. Each Boss below will note if it uses this build or a different one if anything should be tweaked. Running the same talent build for every single Boss is not optimal but this build will perform decently on all encounters.

2.

Kazzara, the Hellforged

2.1.

Talents

For Kazzara, we recommend the default talent build at the top of the page.

2.2.

Tips

  • Terror Claws Icon Terror Claws will be the tank swap mechanic of this fight. Swap after each application. Use the fact that Fiery Brand Icon Fiery Brand mitigates both the upfront damage and the damage over time portion of the spell to your advantage.
  • Use your movement tools to negate Wings of Extinction Icon Wings of Extinction.

For more information, please refer to our Kazzara guide.

3.

The Amalgamation Chamber

3.1.

Talents

For The Amalgamation Chamber, we recommend the default talent build at the top of the page.

3.2.

Tips

  • Maintain mitigation for Shadow Spike Icon Shadow Spike and Flame Slash Icon Flame Slash.
  • Help soak Fiery Meteor Icon Fiery Meteor with your group if you are on the fire side.
  • The tank swap mechanic in phase 2 is Withering Vulnerability Icon Withering Vulnerability and Shadowflame Burst Icon Shadowflame Burst. Swap after one tank gets hit by Withering Vulnerability Icon Withering Vulnerability so they do not get hit by Shadowflame Burst Icon Shadowflame Burst.
  • Use mobility tools to move out after soaking Gloom Conflagration Icon Gloom Conflagration.

For more information, please refer to our Amalgamation Chamber guide.

4.

The Forgotten Experiments

4.1.

Talents

For The Forgotten Experiments, we recommend the default talent build at the top of the page.

4.2.

Tips

  • The tank swap mechanic is Infused Strikes Icon Infused Strikes, a stacking debuff from being hit by melee attacks. The way to clear this is by taunting and moving into the other tank. This leaves a 20-second debuff on the entire raid, so make sure not to swap again during that duration.

For more information, please refer to our Forgotten Experiments guide.

5.

Assault of the Zaqali

5.1.

Talents

For the Zaqali Assault, we recommend the default talent build at the top of the page.

5.2.

Tips

  • Make sure to maintain mitigation for Heavy Cudgel Icon Heavy Cudgel and Flaming Cudgel Icon Flaming Cudgel.
  • Use your mobility tools and good AOE damage profile to maintain aggro on all enemies that spawn.
  • Help soak Devastating Slam.

For more information, please refer to our Assault of the Zaqali guide.

6.

Rashok, the Elder

6.1.

Talents

For Rashok, we recommend the default talent build at the top of the page.

6.2.

Tips

  • Move the Boss into the center of the room when the Boss reaches high energy. This can only be done 3 times during the encounter, so make sure you do not drag the Boss into the middle before he reaches very high energy.
  • Use mitigation for Flaming Slash Icon Flaming Slash and Earthen Crush Icon Earthen Crush and tank swap so no tank takes two hits of the same ability.

For more information, please refer to our Rashok the Elder guide.

7.

The Vigilant Steward, Zskarn

7.1.

Talents

For Zkarn, we recommend the default talent build at the top of the page.

7.2.

Tips

  • Searing Claws Icon Searing Claws is one of the tank mechanics. Taunt the Boss and swap at roughly 5 stacks.
  • The second major tank mechanic is Shrapnel Bomb Icon Shrapnel Bomb. The Boss spawns bombs you need to soak within 30 seconds. Whichever tank is not currently tanking, the Boss should soak bombs one at a time. Try to avoid soaking more than one bomb at a time since the debuff they leave stacks for massive damage.
8.

Magmorax

8.1.

Talents

For Magmorax, we recommend the default talent build at the top of the page.

8.2.

Tips

  • The main tank mechanic for this fight is Incinerating Maws Icon Incinerating Maws taunt swap at two stacks of the debuff.
  • Use your mobility tools to negate the knockback from Overpowering Stomp Icon Overpowering Stomp.

For more information, please refer to our Magmorax guide.

9.

Echo of Neltharion

9.1.

Talents

For Echo of Neltharion, we recommend the default talent build at the top of the page.

9.2.

Tips

  • In phases 1 and 3, the tank mechanic is Calamitous Strike Icon Calamitous Strike. Taunt after the other tank gets hit. Use mitigation for the hit, and make sure to use the pushback to create openings in the walls.
  • In phase 2, Sundered Shadow Icon Sundered Shadow will split you into a shadow form of yourself separated from your body, letting you walk through walls. The second part of the hit will send your body to your shadow, breaking any walls in the way.
  • In phase 3, make sure to stand in a portal to avoid Ebon Destruction Icon Ebon Destruction.

For more information, please refer to our Neltharion guide.

10.

Scalecommander Sarkareth

10.1.

Talents

For Sarkareth, we likely recommend the default talent build at the top of the page with one minor adjustment to drop Meteoric Strikes Icon Meteoric Strikes for Sigil of Silence Icon Sigil of Silence.

10.2.

Tips

  • The main tank swap mechanic on this fight is Burning Claws Icon Burning Claws/Void Claws Icon Void Claws/Void Slash Icon Void Slash. These debuffs will explode for raid damage depending on the amount you took from them. Fiery Brand Icon Fiery Brand and Frailty Icon Frailty are great for reducing damage taken. This is only really relevant in Phase 1, as in Phase 2 and 3, you can either move away from the rest of the raid or move into the downstairs phase to completely negate the raid damage.
  • You want to taunt swap after every cast of Burning Claws Icon Burning Claws/Void Claws Icon Void Claws/Void Slash Icon Void Slash.
  • Utilize Sigil of Silence Icon Sigil of Silence to try to raid control the adds.
  • In Phase 3, you can go down into the shadow realm by being hit by Motes of Oblivion Icon Motes of Oblivion before your Void Claws Icon Void Claws debuff expires.

For more information, please refer to our Scalecommander Sarkareth guide.
