General Information

On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Windwalker Monk for each boss of the following raid: Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.7.

1.

Introduction

On this page, you will find Windwalker Monk-specific information to deal with each boss in the Aberrus raid.

This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Windwalker Monks and what you can do to deal with each fight as best as possible.

1.1.

Resetting Encounters with Transcendence

All Monk specializations are capable of resetting most boss encounters with the use of Transcendence Icon Transcendence and Transcendence: Transfer Icon Transcendence: Transfer. This can be especially useful in a progression environment to save on repair costs and allow players to keep their consumable buffs, such as food from a Hoard of Draconic Delicacies Icon Hoard of Draconic Delicacies. All you have to do as a Monk is place your Transcendence spirit beyond the area that will normally be closed off after engaging the boss. Then, if you would like to reset the encounter, get the boss's attention with Provoke Icon Provoke and teleport outside the encounter area with Transcendence: Transfer. If done successfully, the boss will follow you outside and despawn.

Unless otherwise used during an encounter or mentioned in its tips section, it is highly recommended to get into the habit of setting up this form of fight reset. However, you should never feel forced to do so if there is a point in an encounter that you prefer having access to one of your most powerful mobility tools.

2.

Talent Cheatsheet

The following talent tree is recommended for general use in raid encounters. Be aware that you may switch some points to gain specific utility against certain mechanics, which we will mention on specific bosses where relevant. Remember that you can also easily import the talent tree below into the game with either of the two "Copy Export String" buttons:

3.

  • As Kazzara loses health and more Dread Rifts Icon Dread Rifts and Rays of Anguish Icon Rays of Anguish are formed, follow as the tanks begin moving her to other areas of the room to give players more space to deal with these mechanics.

For more information, please refer to our Kazzara guide.

4.

The Amalgamation Chamber

4.1.

Talent Adjustments

The Forgotten Experiments

Because of this, you'll want to drop 2/2 Touch of the Tiger Icon Touch of the Tiger and pick up Widening Whirl Icon Widening Whirl and Dance of Chi-Ji Icon Dance of Chi-Ji.

5.2.

Tips

  • When fighting Neldris:
    • Avoid being in the path of Rending Charge Icon Rending Charge.
    • Quickly move away during each cast of Bellowing Roar Icon Bellowing Roar.
  • When fighting Thadrion:

  • When fighting Rionthus:
    • Use Tiger's Lust Icon Tiger's Lust to remove the DoT and snare on players affected by Disintegrate Icon Disintegrate.
    • Do not let any Temporal Anomaly Icon Temporal Anomaly orbs reach Rionthus; run into them to knock them away. Note in MythicMythic you will receive Temporal Fracture Icon Temporal Fracture for 20 seconds every time that you do.

For more information, please refer to our Forgotten Experiments guide.

7.

Assault of the Zaqali

7.1.

Talent Adjustments

This fight is the main AOE encounter of the raid, with plenty of targets to fight at the same time. Because of this, you'll want to utilze the more AOE focused Talent Tree.

7.2.

Tips

  • At least five players must stand by the door being charged to with each Catastrophic Slam Icon Catastrophic Slam to split the damage and avoid triggering a Barrier Backfire Icon Barrier Backfire. Avoid soaking this mechanic while affected by Flaming Cudgel Icon Flaming Cudgel or Weakened Vitality Icon Weakened Vitality.

For more information, please refer to our Assault of the Zaqali guide.

8.

The Vigilant Steward, Zskarn

8.1.

8.2.

Tips

  • The Dragonfire Golems created by each cast of Animate Golems Icon Animate Golems do not need to be tanked, but are susceptible to crowd control such as Paralysis Icon Paralysis, Leg Sweep Icon Leg Sweep, and Ring of Peace Icon Ring of Peace.
9.

Magmorax

9.1.

Talent Adjustments

For this fight, use the generic raiding build linked above, as it is an exclusively single-target encounter.

9.2.

Tips

  • Although you can stand in Magma Puddle Icon Magma Puddles to reduce their size and remove them entirely, avoid reaching 25 stacks of Searing Heat Icon Searing Heat from doing so or you will immediately be Incinerated Icon Incinerated in HeroicHeroic difficulty.
    • Note that on MythicMythic difficulty, your stacks of Searing Heat Icon Searing Heat are permanent, but you will instead be Incinerated Icon Incinerated at 50 stacks.

Echo of Neltharion

10.1.

Talent Adjustments

This fight focuses largely on single-target damage, with some brief periods of fighting multiple adds with low health in the final phase and a few larger adds beforehand. Tips

  • Note that Transcendence Icon Transcendence is a particularly useful ability on this fight, as it enables you to bypass many of the restrictions created by Twisted Earth Icon Twisted Earth.

    • Be sure to not accidentally damage any players affected by Corruption Icon Corruption, as they are hostile to you!
  • Phase 3
    • During this phase, the Echo of Neltharion will trigger Sunder Reality Icon Sunder Reality when near sections of Twisted Earth Icon Twisted Earth, creating portals that continuously spawn Twisted Aberration adds. Be ready to blow them up!
    • During each cast of Ebon Destruction Icon Ebon Destruction, stand in a portal to gain Sundered Reality Icon Sundered Reality and survive.

For more information, please refer to our Neltharion guide.

11.

Scalecommander Sarkareth

11.1.

Talent Adjustments

Scalecommander Sarkareth's encounter will largely consist of fighting only one target. It remains to be seen if additional mobility will be necessary or not; at this time, please use the default raid build.

11.2.

Tips

  • Time cooldowns to help blow up adds.
  • Use Ring of Peace Icon Ring of Peace to knock adds back into the void circles so they get debuffed and take increased damage.
