Remix: Legion Guide for Protection Paladin

Welcome to our Legion Remix Guide for Protection Paladin! Here we will cover everything you need to know about getting the most out of your Protection Paladin in the Patch 11.2.5 special feature, Legion: Remix.

This page is entirely dedicated to playing Protection Paladin in the new event. If you want to know more about Legion Remix in general, for example how it works and what rewards you can earn, you can check out our dedicated Legion Remix page!

Which Artifact Path to Pick as Protection Paladin?

In Legion Remix you will have to pick one of five paths in your Artifact Weapon to spend your Infinite Power Icon Infinite Power on. These five trees each have their own unique active ability as well as passive abilities that increase your damage, healing, or survivability.

Here's a quick overview of each of the trees:

  • Nature: This tree offers some damage procs (Souls of the Caw Icon Souls of the Caw) and the active ability Call of the Forest Icon Call of the Forest. The final talent Dreamweaving Icon Dreamweaving will give cooldown reduction to your abilities and restore 1 Holy Power.
  • Fel: This tree focuses on dealing more damage and cleaving your damage by applying Fel-touched to them. Fel-touched will essentially repeat a portion the damage you have dealt to the target to nearby targets. The active ability Twisted Crusade Icon Twisted Crusade will spawn a dreadlord and summon Meteors, Felspike Icon Felspike allows you to explode the dreadlord for AoE damage.
  • Arcane: This tree focuses around the active ability Naran's Everdisc Icon Naran's Everdisc where you throw and catch the projectile and absorb shields which reflect damage back to targets that attack you!
  • Storm: This tree focuses around AoE damage and letting you cast while moving (not relevant for Protection Paladins but still good to know). The active ability Tempest Wrath Icon Tempest Wrath will deal more damage the more targets it hits.
  • Holy: This tree focuses more on healing while also providing some damage. The active ability Vindicator's Judgment Icon Vindicator's Judgment will both deal AoE damage but also do AoE healing, the other main points of interest in the tree focus around the same theme.

With those short explinations out of the way, we would recommend the following paths:

  • Single Target: Fel
  • Cleave: Fel
  • AoE: Storm
  • Potential Fun Option: Arcane

Jewelry and Trinkets will also contain passive abilities on the various trees which will allow you to gain points in a path which you did not pick allowing for synergies. For example the Storm and Arcane paths both have talents which interact with Fel-touched (Terror From Below Icon Terror From Below / Volatile Magics Icon Volatile Magics), however you are not able to apply this debuff without Touch of Malice Icon Touch of Malice so getting a piece of jewelery with this allows you to enable the additional effects

Best Legion Remix Leveling Build for Protection Paladin

Open World and Questing Build Dungeon and Mythic+ Build Raid and Bossing Build
4.1.

Open World and Questing Build

We recommend a simple Templar for the simplicity of how it plays for open world content.

Be sure to make use of the 'Export Talents' button to import these talents directly into your game!

4.2.

Dungeon and Mythic+ Build

For general dungeons you can get away with the Open World build, but for Mythic+ you will want to consider the below build to have more block chance and let you survive bigger pulls in dungeons.

Be sure to make use of the 'Export Talents' button to import these talents directly into your game!

4.3.

Raid and Bossing Build

For raids as there are no tier sets available from Retail we are once again playing Templar as it has no reliance on the bonuses for the power it brings. As your power grows you will find yourself in a spot where Hammer of Light Icon Hammer of Light is frequently available to be used.

Be sure to make use of the 'Export Talents' button to import these talents directly into your game!

Leveling Rotation for Protection Paladin

Since Legion Remix is the perfect opportunity to level classes you haven't played before, we wanted to keep things as simple as possible for those learning the spec. Simply use the slider to select your level to learn a little bit more about how and when to use the abilities you just unlocked.

Move the slider below to make the guide update to your level!

Level: 10

When using our slider, note that some talents may appear sooner than you expect them to in the rotation. This is due to the differences in the recommended builds above, each taking talents at slightly different times, and sometimes entirely different talents.
