Subtlety Rogue DPS Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.1.7

On this page, you will find Subtlety-Rogue-specific information to deal with each boss in the Aberrus raid.

This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Subtlety Rogues and what you can do to deal with each fight as best as possible.

Below is the most commonly used build for single-target, which you will use for most raid encounters.

Because of how the Subtlety spec tree is structured, taking AoE talents reduces our single-target by quite a bit. AoE talent builds can be better for overall damage on certain bosses while being detrimental to the raid progress.

Also note that the Rogue Class tree forces us to make choices between Feint, Cheat Death, Master Poisoner, and Fleet Footed, as we need more points to get all of them without sacrificing DPS. The boss-specific talent links will be optimized with this in mind, as Feint can be useless on some bosses.

This boss has very few mechanics for Rogues; you should use Cloak of Shadows in general, to avoid damage from Hellsteel Carnage, which happens every 20% or if you get stuck in between Rays of Anguishes.

Cloak of Shadows can be used to reset stacks of Blazing Heat, Corrupting Shadows and Shadowflame Contamination.

Feint is useful when soaking Gloom Conflagration.

You can stay in Bellowing Roar with Cloak of Shadows for more uptime.

Feint is useful when soaking Charged Smash and Cloak of Shadows can be used to remove the Overcharged DoT that you get.

Make sure to have some damage for Magma Mystics Molten Barrier.

Blind can be used to CC Animate Golems if your raid wishes to use such strategy.

Cloak of Shadows is a very good defensive tool on this fight, and you can use it for either more uptime on mechanics such as Blast Wave or defensively if you get caught by Tactical Destruction or Dragonfire Traps.

Shadowstep is useful to negate the knock from Blast Wave.

Shadowstep is useful to negate the knock from Overpowering Stomp.

Cloak of Shadows removes multiple debuffs on this fight such as Lava Ejection and Searing Heat.
