Arcane Mage DPS Vault of the Incarnates Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.1
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Arcane Mage for each boss of the following raid: Vault of the Incarnates. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.1.
Introduction
In this section, you will find information and guidance for each boss individually in Vault of the Incarnates as a Arcane Mage. These are not complete encounter guides but provide specific tips for any Arcane Mage on each boss.
Arcane Mage Talents in Vault of the Incarnates
Below, we list most bosses' "base" talent setups. However, we will also list a boss-specific talent tree for each boss if it differs from the base tree below.
Keep in mind that many of the Mage tree talents are personal preference, so we highly suggest you read the talent page for a more detailed overview of the different choices available to you.
You can easily import the talent tree below into the game with the "Copy Export String" button.
Eranog
We suggest using Shimmer instead of
Ice Floes on this fight.
Other than that, we suggest the standard talents. If you want, you could opt
out of
Impetus into
Charged Orb
for slightly better AoE damage at the cost of a small amount of single-target
damage. You can import that build with the code below.
Tips
Use Shimmer to quickly get out of
Molten Cleave without
interrupting any casts.
Keep an eye on your boss mod timer for Flamerift. When Flamerift
is about to come up, ensure you have 4 Arcane charges ready so you can
do a big AoE burn on them with
Arcane Barrage →
Arcane Orb →
repeat. If your group is struggling to kill them, you can also use
Touch of the Magi on them, but keep in mind that this is not optimal
if the adds do not live the entire duration of Touch of the Magi.
You can use Shimmer (or
Blink) to quickly get
through the flame walls from Primal Flame and continue
DPSing without having to move through when an add has been killed.
Mythic Tips
We currently have no Mythic specific tips for Terros.
For more information, please refer to our Eranog guide.
Terros
We suggest using the standard talents listed at the top of this page.
Tips
Use Ice Block to solo soak
Rock Blast when available.
Keep an eye on your boss mod timer for Resonating Annihilation,
to ensure you do not use all your DPS cooldowns right before it goes out
as you are very likely to have to move when it goes out.
If it does spawn in the area, you are in, use
Shimmer/
Blink
or cast while moving via
Ice Floes/
Slipstream to get out
of the zone. You have quite a lot of time, so make sure you do this without
giving up DPS.
Mythic Tips
We currently have no Mythic specific tips for Terros. These are expected to follow during the first week of Mythic being out.
For more information, please refer to our Terros guide.
The Primal Council
Compared to the standard page at the top of this page, we suggest removing
the point out of Impetus and putting it into
Charged Orb.
You can import the suggested page with the code below.
Tips
Use Ice Block to solo soak
Meteor Axes when available.
Ensure you use your cooldowns while all 4 bosses are stacked up, so all your
cleave abilities hit all targets. Since there are 4 bosses,
you should use the AoE rotation on this fight as long as all 4 are stacked.
(So, Arcane Explosion instead of
Arcane Blast)
Make sure you activate Ice Floes before moving into a pool of fire to
cleanse your
Primal Blizzard stacks to ensure you do not stop casting
while moving in and out of it, or time your stack clears with
Slipstream
movement.
Mythic Tips
We currently have no Mythic specific tips for Primal Council. These are expected to follow during the first week of Mythic being out.
Sennarth, the Cold Breath
We suggest taking Shimmer here when learning the fight to avoid
being knocked off the platform due to the various knockback mechanics in this
fight while learning it, as you can quickly use it mid-air to save yourself.
However, when you are more experienced with the fight, you can use
Ice Floes
instead, as it will allow you to avoid the mechanics without losing DPS.
Tips
When the boss starts casting Gossamer Burst, you can activate
Alter Time, then let yourself get dragged close to the edge and then
re-activate Alter Time to be far away again, followed by immediately
Ice Floes into a web patch.
You can use Ice Block to soak
Glacial Plume if needed.
You can also use it to stop the pull-in from
Gossamer Burst
if needed.
Try to make your Arcane Orb go through the little spiderlings
that sometimes spawn when possible to ensure 4 Arcane Charges from it.
Mythic Tips
We currently have no Mythic specific tips for Sennarth. These are expected to follow during the first week of Mythic being out.
Dathea, Ascended
We suggest the standard talents for this fight for normal mode.
For heroic mode, we suggest swapping out Impetus into
Charged Orb.
Tips
When you get Conductive Mark, activate
Alter Time
when at full health and re-activate when the damage from the mark
brings you low. You can also
Ice Block to fully get rid of it if you are
in danger of dying or your group is struggling to heal it.
Right at the start of Cyclone you can activate
Alter Time
to snapshot your position and re-active it when you get close to the boss.
You can also use
Shimmer/
Ice Floes to keep DPS up while
moving against the pull.
Mythic Tips
We currently have no Mythic specific tips for Dathea. These are expected to follow during the first week of Mythic being out.
For more information, please refer to our DatheaAscended guide.
Kurog Grimtotem
We suggest the standard talents for this fight.
Tips
When you get Biting Chill, activate
Alter Time
when at full health and re-activate when the damage from the debuff
brings you low. You can also
Ice Block to fully get rid of it if you are
in danger of dying or your group is struggling to heal it.
You can solo soak Absolute Zero with
Ice Block.
On small group sizes, you can also solo soak it with
Greater Invisibility,
but make sure to use
Prismatic Barrier to ensure you do not die.
Keep an eye on the energy bar of the boss, and when the boss is close to being
full energy, save your cooldowns for the intermission phase. You should channel
Evocation while the boss is flying to the middle and start your burn
rotation on the adds when they are grouped up.
Mythic Tips
We currently have no Mythic specific tips for Kurog Grimtotem. These are expected to follow during the first week of Mythic being out.
For more information, please refer to our Kurog Grimtotem guide.
Broodkeeper Diurna
Your talents on this fight will depend a lot on your group's strategy.
A lot of tactics involve having the boss and adds completely separate from
each other. If this is the case, your talents will depend on whether you
are assigned to fight adds or the boss. If you are assigned to swap between both,
or focus the adds, we suggest the standard talents. However, if you are assigned
to boss only damage, you should spec out of Arcing Cleave Into
Improved Arcane Missiles.
Tips
As described above, a lot of groups assign a large group of players
to focus entirely on boss damage, while others entirely on add damage.
If you are assigned entirely to adds, make sure you position yourself so that
your Arcane Orb hits multiple targets, ensure that your
Touch of the Magi explosion hits multiple targets, and that you only apply
Radiant Spark (and Touch of the Magi) on high health targets to ensure
your target does not die before either buff expires.
When the boss casts Icy Shroud, activate
Alter Time
when at full health and re-active it after the damage, or use other
defensives as you see fit. If needed, you can use
Ice Block to get rid of the debuff
after the explosion. Still, since others can dispel it, this is only
suggested if your group does not have
Mass Dispel available and your
healers are struggling.
Mythic Tips
We currently have no Mythic specific tips for Broodkeeper Diurna. These are expected to follow during the first few weeks of Mythic being out.
For more information, please refer to our Broodkeeper Diurna guide.
Raszageth the Storm-Eater
You will want to swap into Ring of Frost and make sure you have
Blast Wave to help deal with the Spark adds, especially on Mythic difficulty.
Additionally,
Shimmer is pretty much mandatory (at least on Mythic),
and additional mobility via
Displacement is also very valuable.
You can import our suggested build with the code below.
Tips
If you get targeted with Static Charge, you should activate
Alter Time before
Shimmering away from the group, and then
re-activating Alter Time after putting down the debuff.
Your Rune of Power and cooldowns in general will line up with
Hurricane Wing quite often on this fight. When this happens, ensure
you are already close to a
Static Field, to ensure your Rune
drops close to the pool, so you can simply sidestep when the winds begin Into
the Static Field without losing uptime on Rune.
Depending on your group's damage, cooldowns will align differently with
the different phases. However, it is very important you align your cooldowns
at least with the huge bonus damage moments in phase 2. ( Focused Charge)
This effect happens shortly after the start of phase 2, so channel
Evocation
about 5-10 seconds into phase 2 and things should align naturally with the bonus
damage.
Mythic Tips
We currently have no Mythic specific tips for Raszageth the Storm-Eater. These are expected to follow during the first few weeks of Mythic being out.
For more information, please refer to our Raszageth the Storm-Eater guide.
