Elemental Shaman DPS Vault of the Incarnates Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.1
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Elemental Shaman for each boss of the following raid: Vault of the Incarnates. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.1.
Introduction
On this page, you will find Elemental Shaman specific information to deal with each Boss in the Vault of the Incarnates raid.
This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Elemental Shaman and how you can deal with each fight as best as possible.
If you really do not want to switch talents every boss, the following talent tree is "good enough" to mostly work on every Boss. However, in practice, the bosses are different enough that we strongly recommend using specific builds for each Boss. Therefore, we will give you export codes for each. Bear in mind that between the differences in difficulties, raid compositions and the problems you encounter during the actual raid fights, you should try and switch things around if you believe it would be more appropriate for your situation. Many things are viable right now. Note that you can import this talent tree directly into the game by using the export button.
Eranog
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BYQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgUSrIJtkAJlINKBNJJBAAAAAgWAUSokmEItkkWAEJJAC
Note that there are multiple possibilities here. You could take Echoes of Great Sundering
and
Lightning Rod if you need more heavy AoE but it is probably worse overall.
You could also drop
Liquid Magma Totem for
Improved Flametongue Weapon
for more single-target damage.
Tips
Flamerifts appear every 30 seconds. You should hold your first
Stormkeeper and use it right before the adds spawn, and then repeat this for every second add spawn. Similarly, make sure you have an
Echoes of Great Sundering and
Surge of Power buff ready for this AoE burst.
- When targeted by
Flamerift, use
Spiritwalker's Grace to keep casting at the Boss while adjusting your positioning. Use
Gust of Wind to accelerate this if you are out of position.
- You can use
Capacitor Totem and
Earthbind Totem on Flamescale Taraseks to keep them stacked.
- When targeted by a Flamescale Taraseks fixate, you can use
Thunderstorm to prevent it from getting too close.
- Make sure you focus down the right Primal Flame during Phase 2.
- The only ability which should require
Astral Shift use is
Incinerating Roar once you reach a certain amount of stacks. Feel free to use your potions or heal yourself with
Healing Surge if you think your healers are struggling or you are dropping dangerously low
- In Mythic difficulty, you want to focus down the Flamescale Captain
as soon as possible, and to keep interrupting their
Pyroblast with
Wind Shear.
For more information, please refer to our Eranog guide.
Terros
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BYQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgUSpUSCgDkUSShSUikQOAAAAAAgSAJlkgiASLJpFAkkIBC
Because you do not need much utility in this fight, you can use talents to
help with healing a little. For this purpose, you could grab Earth Shield,
Ancestral Guidance or
Mana Spring Totem. Depending on whether you
feel some of your mobility talents are unnecessary, you can drop one or two to
lean more heavily into healing. I recommend keeping all the mobility you
can, however.
Tips
- This is a relatively straightforward fight that requires a lot of healing and
movement. Do not hesitate to use
Spiritwalker's Grace,
Gust of Wind or going into
Ghost Wolf form a lot.
- There are multiple uses for
Wind Rush Totem. Do not hesitate to use it for any big raid movement if it is not assigned to a particular ability.
Rock Blast is likely to be a good example.
- This fight is much easier if your raid organizes their movement cooldowns properly,
most notably
Demonic Gateway and
Stampeding Roar. I recommend even pick-up groups on lower difficulties do this.
For more information, please refer to our Terros guide.
The Primal Council
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BYQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAg0SpIJtkACSjSOQLtkQOAAAAAAgSAJlkgiASLJpFAkkIBC
You could also get Earth Shield and
Surging Shields for better
personal survivability.
Tips
- Keep
Flame Shock on all targets.
- When you have a
Conductive Mark on you and are targeted by
Meteor Axes, use
Astral Shift and use all the healing you can.
- Interrupt Dathea's
Lightning Bolts and the Primal Council's
Frost Spikes.
- You will most likely want to use
Gust of Wind,
Spiritwalker's Grace or both when dealing with
Primal Blizzard.
Alternatively, you could also use the lightning-focused build below. In this case, you will want to maintain Flame Shock
one target and use
Lava Surge procs to proc
Master of the Elements and
Power of the Maelstrom
Because this build is not as mobile, it is not generally preferred, especially on progress.

For more information, please refer to our The Primal Council guide.
Sennarth, the Cold Breath
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BYQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgUSpUSCAJlkUoEl0SCRAAAAAAKBkUSCKCItkkWAQSiEI
Stoneskin Totem can be taken to help deal with
Gossamer Burst.
Electrified Shocks can replace
Flux Melting if grouping the adds
ends up practical and they are not dying fast enough.
Tips
- Focusing down Frostbreath Arachnids is the most important thing
in the fight. Use movement abilities to maintain full uptime when they are up and
defensives/healing to survive their
Chilling Blast.
- Use
Stoneskin Totem to help mitigate
Gossamer Burst.
- Caustic Spiderlings should be bullied with
Thunderstorm and
Capacitor Totem.
Wind Rush Totem should be available for intermissions.
Dathea, Ascended
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BYQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgUSpIJlkAJINKBtkkkDAAAAAAoFgUSCpIg0SSapEAJJAC
You will quickly understand the reason for this "hybrid" build. This is mainly
a single-target fight but it also has regular AoE phases where small adds need to
be gathered and nuked down, and a big add killed fast. These phases happen pretty
quickly so if you fall behind on clearing these adds, you will have little time
to damage the Boss. If you do not feel the need for the additional burst from Power of the Maelstrom
and potentially
Elemental Equilibrium with
Stormkeeper,
you can instead get
Flow of Power for a higher Maelstrom generation.
Tips
- Like on Eranog, you will want to have a
Surge of Power up to mow down Thunder Callers with
Stormkeeper.
- Use
Spiritwalker's Grace during
Cyclone,
Wind Rush Totem should also be used there.
- Help your raid stack Thunder Callers on top of each other with
Thunderstorm then
Capacitor Totem.
- Interrupt in priority Volatile Infusers'
Diverted Essence cast, then Thunder Callers'
Storm Bolt.
- You can jump back on the boss platform with
Gust of Wind early.
For more information, please refer to our Dathea, Ascended guide.
Kurog Grimtotem
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BYQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgUSpUSCAJlkUoEt0SCRAAAAAAaBIlkQKCItkkWKBQSCgA
Stormkeeper is tempting to deal with Earth Breakers
but they do not appear often enough to be worth the single-target/mobility
loss unless your raid is struggling with them.
Ascendance
can be used for that purpose instead. It is taken here to deal with particularly
troublesome adds in P2 and to burst him down during his final phase.
Tips
- Always hard focus the adds.
- Use
Gust of Wind and/or
Spiritwalker's Grace to reach
Thunder Strikes.
- Interrupt Smoldering Hellions'
Flame Bolts and Frozen Destroyers'
Frost Binds.
- Use
Astral Shift for when
Lethal Current targets you, or you have to soak a
Thunder Strike when the Boss has a lot of Dominance stacks.
- In Mythic difficulty, use
Spiritwalker's Grace to deal with
Searing Carnage.
For more information, please refer to our Kurog Grimtotem guide.
Broodkeeper Diurna
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BYQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAg0SpIJtkAJINKRLtkQOAAAAAAgSAJlkgiASLJpFAkkIBC
There are typically 2 "groups" assigned in this fight, one to focus on single-target
DPS on the boss, the other focusing/AoEing down adds. Depending on your role,
you want to pick between Splintered Elements and
Primordial Surge,
although lightning builds (like on Council) can also pull ahead AoE-wise. We
are assuming you are assigned to the add group.
Depending on your difficulties with the fight, you may want to drop some crowd
control for either personal ( Earth Shield and
Surging Shields)
or group healing (
Ancestral Guidance,
Mana Spring Totem). As
Frozen Shroud
is technically a "root" effect;
Thunderous Paws may get us out of it.
Tips
- Always focus Juvenile Frost Proto-Dragons.
- As usual, use
Thunderstorm and
Capacitor Totem to stack adds together and stun them.
- Use
Spiritwalker's Grace when pursued by
Greatstaff's Wrath. As you are the one choosing to be targeted by this ability, you should always have Spiritwalker's Grace available for it.
Gust of Wind will do in a pinch.
- Interrupt Primalist Mages'
Ice Barrages and Drakonid Stormbringers'
Static Jolt.
- You should problably keep
Astral Shift for
Frozen Shroud. You can also use it if someone is about to break eggs with
Greatstaff's Wrath during a
Chilling Tantrum.
For more information, please refer to our Broodkeeper Diurna guide.
Raszageth the Storm-Eater
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BYQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAg0SpIJtkAJINKBtkI5AAAAAAAKBIlkQKCItkkWKBQSCgA
Tips
Wind Rush Totem and
Gust of Wind are very helpful in all difficulties to help people reposition during/after multiple abilities, or not get blasted off a platform.
Make sure you have DPS cooldowns available to deal with the various adds.
Volatile Spark can be interrupted and therefore killed by Wind Shear
but also
Capacitor Totem,
Purge and
Thunderstorm.
For more information, please refer to our Raszageth the Storm-Eater guide.
