Elemental Shaman in Battle of Dazar'alor (BoD)

In this section you will find information pertaining to each boss individually in the Battle of Dazar'alor raid. It is generally recommended you follow the standard talent build found in the Builds, Talents, and Glyphs section of the guide, unless otherwise advised on a per boss basis. Note that this section will notlist every ability you need to move out of, every ability you can interrupt, etc, refer to the previous link for generic boss guides, and to the in-game dungeon journal. DPS Talents should be fairly static overall. Goblins' Rocket Jump Icon Rocket Jump would be a very useful tool on multiple bosses.

Champion of the Light

3.1.

Elemental Shaman Tips on Champion of the Light

The main thing to keep in mind in this fight is to not hit the boss when the boss has Seal of Reckoning Icon Seal of Reckoning up, and to not kill any adds while the boss has Seal of Retribution Icon Seal of Retribution up.

Aside from that, you should make sure you do not position yourself between the boss and the adds, so you do not have to move to dodge the Wave of Light Icon Wave of Light.

If the boss has many Zealotry Icon Zealotry stacks and casts Judgment: Reckoning Icon Judgment: Reckoning, you should use Astral Shift Icon Astral Shift and/or Harden Skin Icon Harden Skin as it will do a lot of damage. If using Spirit Wolf Icon Spirit Wolf, it may indeed be a good idea to spend a few seconds in wolf form to further mitigate the damage if it would otherwise be lethal.

Lastly, make sure you are in range of both the boss and adds when the boss switches between Judgments, so you will be in range to swap to the opposite target without losing any DPS time.

Grong

4.1.

Suggested Talents for Elemental Shaman on Grong

4.2.

Elemental Shaman Tips on Grong

This fight works exactly the same for both Alliance and Horde players, but every ability has a different name for each faction.

If the boss ever reaches 100% Rage / Death Energy, use Astral Shift Icon Astral Shift as it will do massive damage. If using Spirit Wolf Icon Spirit Wolf, it may be a good idea to spend a few seconds in wolf form to further mitigate the damage if it would otherwise be lethal. If the strategy is done properly, this should never happen, but if it does happen, be ready to use all your defensives.

To avoid being feared when Ferocious Roar Icon Ferocious Roar is cast, you have to stay near someone (within 5 yards). Your best bet is to stay with another low mobility ranged character (or healer) Note that Tremor Totem Icon Tremor Totem does NOT dispell the fear.

5.

Jadefire Masters

5.1.

Elemental Shaman Tips on Jadefire Masters

Make sure you have some damage available for when the Mage casts its fire shield, so you can burn the shield quickly and interrupt the Pyroblast the boss casts.

6.

Opulence

This fight has a large amount of mechanics that require you to move a lot of the time. Because of this, Icefury Icon Icefury is especially excellent, especially if you are on the side with the Flames of Punishment Icon Flames of Punishment.

6.1.

Elemental Shaman Tips on Opulence

If you are not assigned to a specific gem, you probably want to use the Emerald in Normal/Heroic and the Opal in Mythic.

6.1.1.

Constructs Phase

This phase is all about minimizing movement as much as possible. Both sides have quite a lot of movement.

6.1.2.

Boss Phase

Nothing special there.

7.

Conclave of the Chosen

Wind Rush Totem Icon Wind Rush Totem might be a good idea to deal with Pa'ku's Wrath Icon Pa'ku's Wrath

7.1.

Elemental Shaman Tips on Conclave of the Chosen

Wind Rush Totem Icon Wind Rush Totem can be a good tool either to help group up for Pa'ku's Wrath Icon Pa'ku's Wrath or to split up afterwards.

Keep an eye on your boss mod timers for Gonk's Wrath Icon Gonk's Wrath, to make sure you have cooldowns/Maelstrom to burn down the raptors.

8.

King Rastakhan

8.1.

Elemental Shaman Tips on King Rastakhan

Keep an eye on your boss timer for Zombie Dust Totem Icon Zombie Dust Totem and make sure you have cooldowns/Maelstrom when it spawns so you can quickly kill it.

If you are assigned to go into the death realm when King Rastakhan reaches 60% Health, you need to make sure you have all your cooldowns available when he reaches 60%, so when you get teleported into the death realm you can maximize your DPS on Bwonsamdi.

9.

High Tinker Mekkatorque

9.1.

Elemental Shaman Tips on High Tinker Mekkatorque

Nothing special for Elemental Shamans, just a lot of running around and dodging. Being Goblin (or Gnome if you are Alliance) will help a lot.

10.

Stormwall Blockade

10.1.

Elemental Shaman Tips on Stormwall Blockade

10.1.1.

Sister Katherine

Make sure you keep an eye on your boss mod timers for Electric Shroud Icon Electric Shroud so you have cooldowns/Maelstrom when it is cast so you can quickly burst the shield down.

10.1.2.

BrotherJoseph

When targeted by Tempting Song Icon Tempting Song you have a brief moment to get as far away as possible before it starts channeling. Make sure you use Ghost Wolf Icon Ghost Wolf to get as far away as possible.

Make sure you keep an eye on your boss mod timers for Tidal Shroud Icon Tidal Shroud so you have cooldowns/Maelstrom when it is cast so you can quickly burst the shield down.

10.1.3.

Laminaria

Nothing special here for Elemental Shamans.

11.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

11.1.

Elemental Shaman Tips on Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Ghost Wolf Icon Ghost Wolf is very handy throughout the fight to dodge things if you have a lot of Chilling Touch Icon Chilling Touch stacks.

Make sure you have all your DPS cooldowns available for the second intermission since it is a very tight DPS check.

No real testing was done of phase 3. On paper, DPS cooldowns should be used on the Prismatic Image Icon Prismatic Image add that spawns throughout this phase.
