General Information

On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Marksmanship Hunter for each boss of the following raid: Amirdrassil. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.

1.

Introduction

Below, you can find class and spec-specific advice for every fight in Amirdrassil. If you are looking for a general overview of the Raid that is not spec-specific, check out our dedicated Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope guides.

On this page, you will find Marksmanship Hunter specific information to deal with each boss in the Amirdrassil raid. These are not complete encounter guides but specific tips for doing the bosses as a Marksmanship Hunter.

This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Marksmanship Hunter and how you can deal with each fight as best as possible.

All recommendations are progression-based tips and will not necessarily be the best for an overall DPS ranking.

1.1.

Talent Builds By Boss

To make importing talents easier, I have aggregated the builds into the list below into two main builds. Taking these as a baseline, you can handle all raid encounters in this tier.

2.

Dragonflight Raid Talent Builds for Marksmanship Hunter

Single Target AoE Build
3.

Single Target Raid Build for Marksmanship Hunter

This build is the default single target build for Marksmanship Hunter.

Suggested Encounters:
  • B4PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA0yBgWAQKIAAAAAQkIkkEhIRSSTkGhEFhmQSSIhgGAAAAA

Be sure to make use of the 'Copy Export String' button to import the build directly into your game!

4.

AoE Raid Build for Marksmanship Hunter

This build suits the AoE-heavy encounters in the Raid. Note that going for this build incurs a pretty heavy single-target DPS loss, which may not always be worth it.

Suggested Encounters:
  • B4PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA4ARoFAiCCCAAAAQkkcAJJgIkk0SkGREFpoJkIhESoBAAAAA

Be sure to make use of the 'Copy Export String' button to import the build directly into your game!

General Defensive Usage Notes

Marksmanship Hunter has several defensive spells that you should plan to use and rotate throughout mechanics. You should opt to use the smaller cooldown spells often as needed with incoming mechanics and save bigger cooldowns like Aspect of the Turtle Icon Aspect of the Turtle for large incoming damage.

  • Exhilaration Icon Exhilaration
  • Fortitude of the Bear Icon Fortitude of the Bear
  • Survival of the Fittest Icon Survival of the Fittest
4.2.

General Cooldown Usage

Marksmanship Hunter has a few cooldowns to think about using optimally on the fights in Amirdrassil:

  • Trueshot Icon Trueshot — Our main, 2-minute cooldown.
  • Death Chakram Icon Death Chakram paired with Volley Icon Volley — Our small, 45-second mini-cooldown.

In addition to the general rotation, you want to keep in mind that your goal is to use your cooldowns as often as possible during an encounter. With that in mind, your secondary goal is to use them at the correct time.

I highly suggest using some Addon or WeakAura to track the estimated time to die of your target/boss target. Method Raid Tools has this as an option if you are already using this addon. By tracking time to die, if you know that you can only fit one more cycle of your cooldowns in before the boss dies, you can choose to hold these cooldowns to better line up with Bloodlust Icon Bloodlust, your Potion, or even your other cooldowns, trying to look for opportunities to stack all of them.

5.

Gnarlroot

5.1.

Defensive Usage

  • Try to be liberal with defensive cooldowns during the intermission, especially if you are running far to soak Splintering Charcoal Icon Splintering Charcoal and debuff branches with Ember-Charred Icon Ember-Charred.
5.2.

Cooldown Timings

  • No special considerations. Use your second Trueshot Icon Trueshot, Potion, and all of your other cooldowns when the boss is affected by Uprooted Agony Icon Uprooted Agony, after the intermission.
5.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • On Mythic there are larger adds that need to be focused down. Make sure you are ready to swap to these as they are about to spawn.

For more information, please refer to our Gnarlroot guide.

6.

Igira the Cruel

6.1.

Defensive Usage

  • If you are targeted with Blistering Spear Icon Blistering Spear make sure to use at least Exhilaration Icon Exhilaration before it hits if you are low on HP.
  • Consider using Aspect of the Cheetah Icon Aspect of the Cheetah if targeted by Slicing Torment Icon Slicing Torment. This can make it much easier to dodge the circle with the increased movement speed. Note that the travel time on the jump is based on distance from the boss, so it is usually a good idea to use Turtle to run far as well.
  • After each intermission the boss deals increased damage. This means it is more critical to have good defensive usage after each subsequent intermission. By the end of the fight you should be quite liberal with uses of Exhilaration Icon Exhilaration.
6.2.

Cooldown Timings

  • Spears spawn at 0:08, 0:28, 2:18, and 2:38. Thus, your Trueshot Icon Trueshot will naturally line up pretty well at 0:08 and 2:18.
6.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • Try to position yourself at a far enough distance away so that dodging Twisting Blade Icon Twisting Blade is easier.
  • During the intermission make sure you are mindful of your positioning so you do not get accidentally knocked back into a Marked for Torment Icon Marked for Torment circle. Soaking more than once will be deadly.
7.

Volcoross

7.1.

Defensive Usage

  • While soaking Flood of the Firelands Icon Flood of the Firelands deals a relatively small amount of damage, shortly after the boss will channel Serpent's Fury Icon Serpent's Fury. This is your best candidate to use your defensive cooldowns.
7.2.

Cooldown Timings

  • No specific timings to mention.
7.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • When soaking Flood of the Firelands Icon Flood of the Firelands be sure to position yourself so that you get knocked back in the correct direction. The direction is determined based on the position of your character and the center of the soak.

For more information, please refer to our Volcoross guide.

8.

Council of Dreams

8.1.

Defensive Usage

  • Be sure to use a defensive if you are ever soaking Barreling Charge Icon Barreling Charge. Depending on how many people are also soaking Exhilaration Icon Exhilaration should be enough, or if it is very few people consider using Aspect of the Turtle Icon Aspect of the Turtle. You will still get the debuff.
8.2.

Cooldown Timings

  • No specific timings to mention.
8.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • Be sure to pay attention to boss health to kill them as evenly as possible. Urctos does have a higher health pool than the other two bosses.
  • As a ranged spec you should generally be focusing Pip or Aerwynn over Urctos. This boss should fall naturally to cleave since he should always be tanked on one of the other two.

For more information, please refer to our Council of Dreams guide.

9.

Larodar, Keeper of the Flame

9.1.

Defensive Usage

  • Be sure to progressively use more defensive abilities for each cast of Raging Inferno Icon Raging Inferno as it does ramping damage for each subsequent cast.
  • You should consider using at least Exhilaration Icon Exhilaration when you soak Falling Embers Icon Falling Embers in Phase 2.
  • Pay attention in Phase 2 if you get targeted by Flash Fire Icon Flash Fire. You should use Exhilaration Icon Exhilaration to help get this absorb off you quickly before you explode when it expires.
9.2.

Cooldown Timings

  • Consider delaying cooldowns around picking up the Blazing Coalescence Icon Blazing Coalescence orb. This does deal a bit of damage when picking up but also gives you increased critical strike chance for 10 seconds. The buff is not super important to plan around, but its worth paying attention to these spawns around your cooldowns since they need to be soaked regardless.
9.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • If you are targeted by Scorching Roots Icon Scorching Roots be sure to not get hit and kite this effectively so your group members can easily purify it with the Seed of Life.
10.

Nymue, Weaver of the Cycle

10.1.

Defensive Usage

  • Be sure to use at least Exhilaration Icon Exhilaration when soaking the smaller circles throughout the room.
10.2.

Cooldown Timings

  • No specific timings to mention.
10.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • While fighting the Cycle Warden Nymue is effectively immune so you should just focus the add and not worry about the boss.
11.

Smolderon

11.1.

Defensive Usage

  • Depending on the strategy used you can save Exhilaration Icon Exhilaration to help heal off your Overheated Icon Overheated debuff quickly. You might be stacking with group members for this and if so you typically want all of these to be healed off at once so be cautious.
11.2.

Cooldown Timings

  • Typically you will want to save cooldowns for the intermission phase where you will get significantly increased damage from Ignited Essence Icon Ignited Essence. You have 5 orbs to collect each intermission and if you fail to collect any the boss instead gets the buff.
  • The timings for the intermission after you pick up your orbs is roughly ~1:10, ~2:50, ~4:30, and ~6:00. Because of this I would suggest the following for cooldowns if you lust FIRST intermission, but you should adjust based on when your group decides to use Bloodlust Icon Bloodlust and estimated kill time.
    • 0:00 - Everything but Trueshot Icon Trueshot
    • ~1:10 (int 1) - All cooldowns + Bloodlust Icon Bloodlust
    • ~2:50 (int 2) - Death Chakram Icon Death Chakram/Volley Icon Volley
    • ~3:10 - Trueshot Icon Trueshot
    • ~4:30 (int 3) - Death Chakram Icon Death Chakram/Volley Icon Volley
    • ~6:00 (int 4) - Death Chakram Icon Death Chakram/Volley Icon Volley
  • I would suggest the following for cooldowns if you lust LAST intermission for execute damage for early prog kills, but you should adjust based on when your group decides to use Bloodlust Icon Bloodlust and estimated kill time.
    • 0:00 - All cooldowns
    • ~1:10 (int 1) - Death Chakram Icon Death Chakram/Volley Icon Volley
    • ~2:00 - Trueshot Icon Trueshot
    • ~2:50 (int 2) - Death Chakram Icon Death Chakram/Volley Icon Volley
    • ~4:30 (int 3) - Death Chakram Icon Death Chakram/Volley Icon Volley
    • ~6:00 (int 4) - All cooldowns + Bloodlust Icon Bloodlust
11.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • Before the intermission starts you will get knocked back and spawn 5 Ignited Essence Icon Ignited Essence orbs you need to soak. Soak them all within a short time of one another, as the buff does not extend on each pickup.

For more information, please refer to our Smolderon guide.

12.

Tindral Sageswift, Seer of the Flame

12.1.

Defensive Usage

  • No specific defensive usage to mention.
12.2.

Cooldown Timings

  • Generally speaking the fight works out naturally well for our 2 minute cooldowns if you use things on cooldown as you get them. You should always have these for every intermission burn phase.
12.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • You can Disengage Icon Disengage the root, but you will explicitly not want to do this on Mythic.
13.

Fyrakk the Blazing

13.1.

Defensive Usage

  • No specific defensive usage to mention.
13.2.

Cooldown Timings

  • No specific timings to mention.
13.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • No specific tips to handle mechanics to mention.
